No. It doesn't really seem like a game. I mean, doesn't the song play for you no matter what buttons you press? And you don't even have to look at the screen to play it. Honestly, I don't think it's any different than turning on my CD player and pressing random buttons on my Wii Remote, only then I'd get to "play" whatever song I want.

50$...No.
20-30$ definitely, looks pretty fun, good game to have in the collection...but not 50$ worth of fun.
No. I see it as a hinderance to creativity and an insult to real musical skill and expression. Maybe I will change my outlook if it includes some modes that allow for creative expression and growth. Look back at one of nintendo's first "casual" titles: Mario Paint for snes. That game was fun because you were given a blank canvas with almost limitless possibilities and potential that were furthur and furthur realized depending on the effort you put into it. You didn't just move the pointer around onscreen and pretend to draw while a picture was created for you in the background. I really hope parents don't let their young children with malleable minds play this as I predict it will instill laziness and promote instant gratification. The amount of effort you put into something should mirror the satisfaction you receive from it. Pretending to play an instrument without the realization that yes, you will make some mistakes, or that you have no chance to improve and increase in skill and knowledge only breeds a false sense of complacency. Unfortunately, I predict that many parents will purchase this game for their children because they will see it as a great alternative to the "mindlessness" that many people see as a negative product of video games. It's just too bad that many people will fail to recognize the mindlessness that this game will foster. One just needs to take a look at the disturbing model of society presented in the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. In this novel a central government has stripped a society of all individualism and has bred humans in test tubes who are indoctrinated at a young age to show no creative or progressive ideas towards their society. They are provided with soma, a mind alterring drug that produces a euphoric state, and encouraged to participate in free love with many partners to ensure total satisfaction at all times and endure no periods of negative emotion. This society was inspired by the progression of the early 20th century and closely resembles the supposed progression titles like wii music are inspired by. Hopefully people will not develop false complacency as this title does not showcase Nintendo's ideal that the more you put into a game the more you should get out of it.
(sorry I guess I sort of got carried away there, lol... don't take this too serious. anyway at least the title will have virtual drum lessons)
