is it me or is there someone else here that thinks that a wireless nunchuk would be a great idea ?

i mean yes youhave more freedom with the wii controls but when i play some party games i wish for that wire wasnt connected so i would have more space(and stop that wire bouncing.....).is it even possible to make a wireless nunchuk?it would take double the batteries and normally there would be a clip inserted in the wiimote but i wouldnt care as long there isnt any wire hehe.

in conclusion i would definetly give 40$ for a wireless nunhuck than 20$ for a wire one(do you think it would go for more than 40$ cause wiimote goes for 40$ and it is the basic controller)

It would need to be a lot heavier and bulkier to make room for the batteries. To answer "who would buy", pretty much only people with an armspan longer than 3 feet, who swing their arms back until they dislocate while using the nunchuk

I've thought about it before. I came to the conclusion that I would lose immediately after I bought it.

I'd probably keep losing one or the other. It'd be annoying to have to sync it up with the system, as well as the accompanying wiimote. Meaning if it ran out of batteries, it'd be a hassle to just switch it out with another one. It makes things easier, having both parts connected. It'd definitely look cooler, but if space is an issue they can just make longer wires.

.LMAO that was actually the first thing that came to my mind, but I figured it would be too obscure and not enough people would know who that is.

It wouldn't be a "nunchuk" if it was wireless. Do you even know why its called a "nunchuk"? Do you know what a "nunchuk" is?

It would weigh more from the batteries, plus it would cost more because it would have to have a transmitter in it. Also, unless Nintendo made a firmware update to communicate with a wireless nunchuck (which they wouldn't do to support a 3rd party wireless nunchuck) you'd have to plug a reciever into the Wii remote.

I'm having a hard time finding a comfortable gameplaying position where my hands are more than three feet apart. Inventing a wireless nunchuck seems like a whole lot of unnecesary work.

Hell yes I would buy it!

There has been talk of such a thing coming out for some time now. I think it would be great. You nailed it right on the head with eliminating wire bouncing :) that's the number one reason I'd want to get one. I think we'll see one soon.

a wireless nunchuk would be a great idea, the cord would not get in your way and you would be able to move your arms more freely. They should definetly consider making one.

I actually like the cord since it helps me keep track of where I put the nunchuk. But that's not to say I wouldn't like the idea of a wireless one.

Here are some problems surrounding your idea:

1) They would need to have more bluetooth connections in the Wii, which is impossible if they want to have 4 wiimotes and 4 nunchuks because the Wii only has 8 bluetooth connections. The Wii itself is using one of them to make it wireless in the first place, so that leaves only 7. Even if there were 9 connections, that would eliminate any chance of a wireless headset (which is bound to come out eventually).

2) It couldn't be called the Nunchuk anymore, if you don't know why, look up what a nunchuk is on google. In the Ninja Turtles, Michelangelo uses one.

3) Batteries would double, and that would be expensive and bad for the environment.

4) The nunchuk would have to be bigger, because it would have to be able to fit the batteries in it, and it would probably be bulky and ugly. The reasonit's the size it is now is because it needs to have the 3axis (or whatever it's called), so any bigger and it wouldn't be very functional.

5) Not many people have an issue with the length of the cord. Granted, it can get in the way when you're swinging both of them around, creating a "skipping-rope" type of effect, but it's just a matter of learing to deal with it and work around it. Though I agreeit is a slight design flaw with the controllers, it's not really that big of an issue.

6) It would be small, roundish and slippery. It's bound to get lost inbetween the couches. If it weren't for the cord, I would have lost is a number of times.

7) It would need another wrist strap, and probably some new protective silicon jacket, because people are obviously going to throw it.

8 ) It would cost Nintendo more and in turn, it would end up costing the consumer more. Nobody wants to pay any more than they already do for these things. I mean, to buy a Wiimote and a Nunchuk in Canada it costs a total of over $65. For a controller. That's rediculous enough if you ask me.

I think it's a nice idea you have here, but it's not very practical. It's sad, I know

it would be good and bad

bad

-heavier for batteries

-let go of it and if it had it's own strap, it would be annoying

-probably cost more

good

-won't get tangled in wire
