I was wondering if I should go out and order Tales of Symphonia for the GC to play on my Wii. There are currently no rpgs available that look decent or interesting to me not counting the Zelda series. So I was wondering if it would be worth it to order this title or wait till something else comes out that's actually ment for the Wii (such as rune factory frontier for example). Opinions?

Yes yes and yes some more. This is one of my favorite games ever and I would say to order it even if the wii had a bunch of RPGs out right now. Then when you're done with that, buy Symphonia 2 because while not as good as the first, it is still a great story.

all of the Big 3 consoles this gen seem to be lacking RPGs.

If you want a huge supply of RPGs, I recommend getting a DS. Especially now that the DSi is coming to North America, the old DS unit might be available for a bargain on Amazon/eBay, etc.

Yes. If you haven't played the original Tales of Symphonia yet, you owe it to yourself to get it. It was one of the GameCube's great RPG games, and it still holds its own very well today, especially when you consider the small number of RPGs available on the Wii. Easily worth the $20 you're probably going to spend on it. :)

Unfortunately it's very hard to find nowadays and so far the only places that i've been able to find it are Ebay and Amazon all used and all around 45 bucks canadian :(

That's actually one of the main reasons I haven't bought it yet is that it is very difficult to find a copy.

Hmm... check out a site like Gamestop. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a used copy there for much less.

Wii is the only console that i currently own and i'm not planning on getting a new one any time soon. I have already beaten Okami, otherwise i would probably buy it. That game is absolutely amazing and extremely underrated. I might still buy it later at some point if i can find it for cheap.

If I get tales of symphonia do I need a special memory card to be able to save games?

You will need a Gamecube memory card. Not sure if they still sell those new in store, so you'll have to find one used.

I couldn't agree more. The two Baten Kaitos games are truly awesome. The game is huge (over 60 hours), has incredible music and a very deep battle system.

You obviously have a PC. I highly recommend King's Bounty if you like some strategy in your RPGs. It's addicting.

I Agree and Disagree with this comment.

I Agree on the Fact that the Baten Kaitos Games were awesome, the game is long and the music is nice. Also on the fact that the TC should buy this, ToS & Skies of Arcadia Legends if they can find them.

I Disagree on the statement that it has a deep battle system. I hardly consider not being able to choose your actions and having to wait for a specific card to come up randomly, a deep battle system. Now you can customize the cards that show up but there is still no definite ability to choose your actions unless you place only attack/healing/etc cards in the setup. I've actually run into Boss battles and had the boss down to 1-hit left to win and couldn't hit him because no attack cards would appear only a bunch of healing items and I had to redo the fight because we couldn't attack.

like i've said it's just very difficult for me to find a copy of tales here in canada and I only recently got my Wii i had been on the Ps/ps2 previously so there is quite a gap there.
