The users buy headsets like the 360 & it's connected like the PS3

You're not following.
If Nintendo were to use bluetooth then if 4 people are playing on one Wii only 3 of them would be able to use a headset.
While that's not exactly the norm it's still an issue.
When Nintendo releases it's headset I see it being able to work so 4 people using one Wii will also be able to use 4 headsets.
OK rite y only 3, & there not on the a same console their on differnt console world wide, why would they need headsets to speak to each other if their next to each other

Because Bluetooth can only support 7 devices at one so if you have 4 people using Wiimotes you only have 3 slots left.
I don't thinik it's a big deal myself but there are some people who have all 4 players on one system playing team games with other people online.

yeah, but whenever im at friends houses playing Halo 3 online, we only have 1 or 2 mics anyway, so controller 1 just uses the mic. we never have any problems with that

Exactly, like I said up there it's not going to happen to many people and it's never going to happen to me. I just can't see Nintendo releasing something with such an obvious flaw.

most online games only have two possible players anyways. so it probably wouldnt matter. besides im sure some 3rd party could use the usb port and have a dongle that coiuld allow for the eigth option.
[QUOTE="Arnalion"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]Probably not because all 4 people couldn't use it on one Wii.dinofan01
And how often do you play 4 players splitscreen online? You usually don't sing karaoke with headsets...
you have no idea what your talking about
Okay? What have I missed? The bluetooth unit only allows 7 connections. So if you have 4 controllers can you only connect 3 headsets. But why would you want to connect more than 3 headsets?

Ok you understand what your talking about but you still made a dumb comment on the first. just because 4 wii motes can play doesnt really mean anything

hes got a point there, I'd be happy with just two people per Wii..
Ok theres obviously alot of issues with wireless headsets.
Bluetooth only supports 7 devices, I did not know that...
Bluetooth is expensive as hell.
a solution would be to make two types of headsets. One that is Bluetooth and really expensive and one that communicates with USB. simple as that. As it is people like IGN believe its gonna be a half ass headset maybe like a mic and the other voices come out of the speakers of your tv. Yes I know that is a scary prospect.
I really hope Nintendo does not half ass the headset they release. PLEASE just make a regular headset and make it wireless that all we ask.
Ideally make one version of the headset Bluetooth for those of us already using the USB ports. Then make one that communicates with the USB.
Well it supports four wii controllers, & i mean't at different place e.g england, pakistan, ur house, george bushes butt AKA where the terroist are really hidingCPrince1000
.. that was a dmub joke.
and ya bluetooth would be the way to go
They can't because they can't give all 4 players headsets.
If they were to do bluetooth they'd screw some users outright. I can't see Nintendo making sure a huge screw up with the headsets.
Jaysonguy
in fairness though, ure hardly going to have 4 ppl playing an online game on the one wii. most of the time its a case of 1 player on a wii, playing against others online. strikers supports 2 ppl at the same time online if i remember right. that still leaves plenty of bandwidth for headsets.
[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]Probably not because all 4 people couldn't use it on one Wii.wiretoss
That's true but you realize it'd be close to impossible to have 4 people in the same house online anyways?
It'd be meant for solo online gaming, obviously.
Yeah I always go back to that commercial I saw a few years back that had 4 gamers online with headsets.
It's not going to happen that often, plus you have to think that USB ports are getting filled up rather quickly these days so I don't know if they're going to make another dongle.

They should make both. A USB and Bluetooth version. The USB dongle can communicate with four headsets.
even if the wii had a headset, its not like youd be able to talk to random ppl, you would need those freind code things, so you would never make any new freinds in that games community this way, and thats one of the sole reasons for voice chat, to interact with new ppl.
plus in wii games u cant add ppl after you play them so if u meet someone cool that would probably be the last time youd talk to them, and unless kart uses a headset the best wii multiplayer games brawl and kart would have already missed voice chat function reducing its value.
either way if the wii gets voice chat it will be so watered down it wont even be noticible.

lets hope and demand different when the headset comes.

i have been and cant anymore. the wii lacks a lot of standard features among consoles these days and ppl insist that will change with time and nothing seems to be ever changing, at least untill the next system.
