Launch games are always made in a matter of months, so that isn't the reason. I'd say a much more likely reason is... developers are still making PS2 games, and since the GC & Xbox are dead, and the Wii is about the same power-wise, they simply port them for quick cash. This cash is then used to fund PS3 and 360 games, which as we all know are very expensive to make.
This will probably continue until the PS2 looses its momentum (hopefully within the next year), and then we should finally see more effort from developers in making unique Wii games. But unfortunately they probably still won't look much better. :?

The Wii was first shown to third party developers during E3 2005. We are now approaching E3 2007. The Wii was launched Nov. 2006. That mean to date all the Wii games that are out could only have a max of 2 yrs worth of dev time. And thats being generous seeing as how Nintendo didn't send out Dev kits untill much after E3 2005.You bring up several great points and I support your theory 100%
And still those first dev kits were basically GC kits with a Wiimote attached. So if your a developer and you really want to have a game on the Wii and make money fast....what do you do? You port a last gen game to the Wii. I mean after all, these same devs jumped ship at the end of GC's life. So why not release all those missed opportunities on the Wii right? Its way less money than making a brand new game.
The main reasons for Wiis lackluster showing is not only the 3rd party developers fault but Nintendos as well. Nintendo wasn't agressive enough with its Wii plans.
Nintendo only sent out its Final Dev kits in June of 2006! How ridiculous is that? My bet is that no game on the wii to date has been fully developed on a final dev kit. Mostly all of the Wiis launch games probably oculd have been done on the GC. Actually they could have. No doubt about it. Why? because they were developed on a GC dev kit.Â
Its my belief that to a good game needs a healthy dev cycle. Which is about 2-4 yrs. No Wii game has had that time yet on final hardware.....

I think you are partially right. There's another reason. The 3rd party were not ready to face the success that Wii has right now. I think the good games that everyone is waiting will come very soon and new announcements are coming as well. chris3116
Agree with TC and this post.
Its completely true.

I know what im talking about. Obviously you don't. 2ndly even IF Wii is 2x more powerful tha xbox how does that explain anything?Launch games are always made in a matter of months, so that isn't the reason.
