In your opinion, would it be something you would really want to have on Nintendos Next system?
i think it'd be really nice if They could put that in their.

B/C should be standard. There's no reason why Nintendo's next wouldn't be able to play GC and Wii games.MAILER_DAEMON^ This I've always taken advantage of B/C with my consoles. It's a great way to save money on games. I played a lot of GC games on my Wii that I had missed out on when GC was out. And most were pretty cheap.
It should be backwards compatible with the Wii and GC discs. In addition to that, it should also render Wii games in 1080p natively (No upscaled doesn't count as its not the same thing or anywhere near as good.) Youtube videos showing them look absolutely amazing, and those people use weak PC hardware thats worse than the rumored specs. No reason it shouldn't be 1080p Wii compatible.

I think a lot of people would shell out for an HD Mario Galaxy. But I think Nintendo will have B/C even if just for the sake of retaining the option of motion controls.

So you want Nintendo to keeo 11 year old tech around? Wii bc I understand but this is pushing it
I would like it to be backwards compatible but it's not a must, i have 2 wii's for my wii games anyway.

I completely agree!
We don't have a Wii or a Gamecube (only had a Gamecube for a short time) We would love to be able to play all those awesome Wii and Gamecube titles on our WiiU, while we wait for a good bit of WiiU games!
I find it to not only be a good business strategy, but Also a good consumer strategy!
It's been confirmed that the Wii-U will be backwards compatible with Wii games, but I don't think they mentioned it being backwards compatible with Gamecube games. Don't the Gamecube and Wii use almost the same hardware? Meaning that if the Wii-U can play Wii games, shoudn't it also be able to play Gamecube games?
Backwards compatibilty should be standard with all consoles!

You gotta understand this about the Wii and how it plays GC games... The CPUs for both were made by IBM, and the GPUs were made by ATI. Nintendo didn't stick old hardware in the thing, but just had a setting to where if it you told the Wii to play a GC game, the processors just went into GameCube mode. Relatively simple hardware emulation. So, if the Wii U goes with the same processor makers, then it shouldn't be hard to have them run in compatibility modes. They've already confirmed Wii b/c, and GC may or may not work, depending on the architecture.I'm sure I saw on an IGN video that it was backwards compatible with GameCube and Wii. Now we know for sure it is with Wii, but it'd be nice if it was with GameCube too. I don't have a GameCube anymore, but I do have GameCube games. If the Wii U can play them, I could get rid of the Wii for a trade in bonus of some sort, and have more space. The only things I have on it are Brawl data, Mario Kart Wii data, Miis, and Super Mario Galaxy data which I never beat, and then sold for some reason. I need to buy that back...
I guess it would be nice if they had data transfer too, though. I wish I could save game data to the SD card... If I can, please tell me how. But I had thought that only games such as VC and WiiWare could be put on it.
EDIT: I did a little looking around, and I found many reports of GC games being backwords compatible. I just bing'd "cafe gamecubecompatibility" and it did the trick. Please note though, that while most are reliable and there are many reports, Nintendo themselves have not actually stated this yet.
I got about 200$ worth of DLC on my Wii. Would like to transfer that over to the new console. ( NES , SNES , N64 Games )

You can store those on an SD card, and I also heard that most if not all of them will work on the Wii U, like the DSiWare. SD cards aren't very expensive, and if you are running out of room, they are pretty nifty to have. Assuming you don't have one already.
