...the online was only a better polished version of Mario Strikers online maybe minus the seasons or replacing it with season "tournaments," allowing you to form Crews or Guilds and possibly  throwing in a rival system similar to MPH's or something along that line?

For those of you who don't know the what the rival system is , its a feature in Metroid Prime Hunters that allowed people to "Rival" random people they played and if the both agreed they'd be added to your "Rival List" Which in terms of the Wii could transcend to a Friend list.

I don't know. As long as I can kick random people's butts on a Smash Bros. game without going to their house, I guess I will be happy. As lag free as possible, please.

I second what the dude above me said.

But yeah, a rival system would be nice.

yeah, it can only be so fast, it won't be real time, but all online games have a slight delay that's almost unnoticeable

Yea, like in Halo online you have to aim in front of the person your shooting at when they're running.

I'd be fine with that online setup, and in all honesty I don't expect much more.  As long as I can play my friends without having to travel.  Also, Melee has such a great community that I don't want that to go away.  If Brawl had some really amazing online component similar to Xbox Live then you wouldn't see nearly as many local tournaments anymore.  I still want for people to actually play together often, but I also want to just play online when I don't feel like traveling to play.

They said that there would be no realy advanced online features, like leaderboards, so dont get your hopes too high for anything better than mario strikers.

I'm with you but being that it has taken Nintendo so long to make an online feature, we as gamers are expecting great things.  I always figured that the longer the wait the better the product.  Come on Nintendo, don't dissappoint.
