would you ever want to see a game where Mario is a plumber

Mario has been a doctor in Dr. Mario, he was been a referee in Punchout, he has been a carpenter in wrenching crew. He was never a plumber in any of his games in which he is most associated with. would you ever want to se a game where he is plumbing, even if its a small part of the game.

Mario and Luigi clearly fixed a pipe in SM3DW. You were just not paying attention.

EDIT: On a side note, I don't have the source on hand at the moment, but someone at Nintendo said Samus was a Bounty Hunter in name only. She doesn't actually hunt bounty... it was just a generic hero term that they decided to use because it sounded cool. BLASPHEMY!

Mario was also a referee in Ice Hockey. His closest adventure to an actual plumber was Sunshine where he was cleaning up F.L.U.D.D.

Sure he has been. Why else would he being going through all those pipes? He's been plumbing for Bowser for decades now.

Think that's a good idea to work with. He's worn the FLUDD after all, so playing with the odd plumber's tools might give some interesting mechanics.

Don't forget Mario also worked in the Clement Factory. Way back in the Game and Watch days. Their was Mario Brothers Cement factory. The sequel of sorts to the original Mario brothers Arcade game. In which plumbers Mario and Luigi were tasked with clearing the sewers from unwanted Turtles, fireflys, skeeters and Crabs, In the original Mario Brothers coin-op arcade game paperwork and some of the ports of this game. It does refer to the Mario Bros working in the sewers as plumbers cleaning them from these pesky creatures.

I sure that is what the premise or "Storyline" of the original Mario bros game. Before they became "super"

Sorry I know this thread is kind of old but... I always thought it would be kind of cool if Nintendo made a game where Mario is between his adventures in Mushroom Kingdom and heads back to NYC. They could have Mario fixing pipes and stopping criminals around NYC, and maybe some fire flowers and other baddies manage to follow him back home though the warp pipes.

I always thought it was a neat idea. Would be cool to see Nintendo actually acknowledge the backstory of Mario a bit.
