Would you get Smash Bros. Brawl if it did not have online?

Last night, I got into a big discussion with somebody about online gameplay for Brawl, and this morning I'm having the same discussion in one of my unions. I am the kind of person who usually doesn't care about online gameplay in most games, but I believe that Brawl really should have online gameplay. I believe that Brawl is going to be a really good game, and I'll get it no matter what, but if it doesn't have online it will seem like Nintendo isn't doing everything that they can to make this game great. Mario Strikers had online, Mario Kart will have it, and even Pokemon had it. In my mind, Brawl would be the best game out of all of those to have online gameplay, and will open up even more replayability than even Melee had.

My friend, and somebody in my union, both believe that it doesn't need it. They say that it will be a great game no matter what, and it shouldn't really matter if it had online gameplay. I do understand where they're coming from, because I feel the same way about a lot of other games, but with this game it's different, because it seems like it would just be perfect for online.

So, I've decided to come here and ask people what their opinion on the matter is. Will you get the game if it doesn't have online? Will you be disappointed if it doesn't have online? Or will you just not get it without online?

Personally, I'd still get it, but I'd be really disappointed if it didn't have it in the game.

Online would be awesome, but it would never beat fighting a friend who's in the same room as you.

Uh... except for vastly superior graphics, new levels and modes, new characters, new items and moves, and etcetera?

Brawl will still be one of the best games for the wii without online but lets put it like this Online play in brawl will be like some nice icing on top of an already amazing cake.

im actually saying Brawl is already amazing online just makes it better

It's funny cause with online this is my most anticapated game but without it I probaly wouldn't get it because it's the same as melee with a couple things different but overall I don't see brawl being to much better than melee so it wouldn't be worth the 60 dollars. You don't play many fighting games, do you? Most fighting series WISH they'd update as much as Brawl is doing. Also, this is a Wii game, and thus only $50.

I don't care if the game has online or not since I have real friends who can come by and play with me... I guess some of u don't... I mean Nintendo consoles have always had the best multiplayers... I mean my most played GC games are all multiplayers. I mean Baten Kaitos which I have finished twice isn't even nearly as played as Melee or Time Splitters (2 & Future Perfect)... I guess I am just lucky to have friends... I really do feel sorry for some of u.

PS. Oh and BTW I don't care if Corruption has online or even multiplayer at all since I'm getting it to play the singleplayer mode, although co-op sounds cool but it doesn't work. Or maybe it will... I mean it would be new and scary but also pretty cool y'know.

Any reason you feel the need to attack everyone in this discussion board? You could have answered the question without accusing everyone of not having friends. You must feel real lucky to have actual friends, most people dont know how to socialize and therefore have no friends. Would you mind explaining what its like to have friends, I would love to know.

anyway i chose teh second option because i'll still buy it, but be severely dissapointed because it just seems that this game is built to be online IMO.

i think it would be alot better with online i mean playing with friends is still fun but they need to make more online games theres only like 15 games that are planned but not out yet just pokemon and mario strikers.... maybe put the tournament option in there from the last super smash bros and like 16 people can play but only 4 at a time there could be spectators and stuff but that seems kinda out of the box though... my idea though

HELL YES!!! id definetly get it because even without online it would be amazing multiplayer.
