If You have any powers to influence Nintendo than make them release Metroid 3DS as soon as possible! :D
Maybe they are up for the rumored Dread project?
[QUOTE="pills4louis"]NO NO NO. Metroid Fusion showed us the huge potential of narrative in Metroid!Only if it's purely side-scrolling and keeps an absolute focus on exploration and isolation.

I guess every Metroid is narrted in some kind of way, mostly by Samus herself...
[QUOTE="pills4louis"]NO NO NO. Metroid Fusion showed us the huge potential of narrative in Metroid! It also streamlined it to the point of leaving behind all of the series' virtues aside from the control scheme. SAMUS, I MARKED THE WAYPOINT ON YOUR MAP. DON'T WORRY, I LOCKED ALL DOORS NOT LEADING TO SAID WAYPOINT SO YOU WON'T GET LOST. I ALSO PACKED YOU A LUNCH. GOOD LUCK, SAMUS ARAN WHO IS A GIRL.Only if it's purely side-scrolling and keeps an absolute focus on exploration and isolation.

[QUOTE="pills4louis"]NO NO NO. Metroid Fusion showed us the huge potential of narrative in Metroid! Metroid Fusion just might be my favorite game in the whole series. It was a perfect blend of isolation, exploration, AND story. Not to mention the SA-X scared the crap out of me. I think it's safe to say that Fusion is the scariest game in the GBA library. I love it.Only if it's purely side-scrolling and keeps an absolute focus on exploration and isolation.

Let us be realistic, a new Metroid on the present moment is a pipe dream. Nintendo is busy creating WII-U and games for 7yo childrens, so the new Metroid is long time no see, at least not before 2012...

Fusion is one of the worst sidscrolling Metroids IMO. Super Metroid is the best one, so I agree with the exploration and isolation part. Not to say it cant have a good story or that it MUST be sidescrolling and not like prime.

But what about the scary-as-hell atmosphere and plot-twists? Also, you are exaggerating, you still had to figure out how to get to where you needed to go. I say, a little linearity is worth a plot and an atmosphere as good as Fusion's.[QUOTE="Harkat95"][QUOTE="pills4louis"]

There will defintely be one in 2012. Retro is probably working on one now.

I hope so, and I hope they bring it on the begining of 2012 or even at the end of 2011 :P I'm a Metroid fanboy, so I just can't wait for 3DS version :)
Maybe Nintendo will finally release an anniversary bundle pack with some extra content (like Ocarina of Time)? I guess it's about time for 25th Metroid anniversary...
Haha cool cool I just sent a message to nintendo and they said they would put my suggestion in the folder and so far it hasnt been announced yet so who knows?

I dont remember it THAT well, but I remember a lot of boring, similar inside environments and monsters. It just seemed a bit repetitive and dull, despite being a good game.
