Woooow. I would be flipping out. I think the same thing happened to mine actually... Yeah it did. Twice, but the third time I put it in it worked. Maybe just let your Wii rest a while. I don't have a positive answer for you but that's what I would do. Sorry. Hope you get it to work bud.

Maybe your Wii is one of those that have trouble reading the Dual Layer? IDK when I went to NOA, to buy Brawl, after I bought it they gave me a slip of paper that was talking about how people are getting that problem. It says to call Nintendo, but like you've said, they're gone. If anyone else has a better solution, listen to them, clean off your disc too. :P.

I had my Wii since launch day,got SSBB this weekend and after the update its working fine. Maybe you have dust or smoke contamination on the laser lens, Nintendo will clean your lens for free if you do.

trust me, I have those games too, and i was in denial too... the reason you can plyay those games and not brawl, is because strikers and TP are single layered discs, brawl is dual-layered, and because your wii is one of the older ones, its laser is more likely to have become dirty or damaged... trust me, i went through this too... call nintendo tomorrow and they'll help you :)

SSBB use a new dual layer disc that is more sensitive to dust and smoke contamination.

no, if you damage it, nintendo might hold you liable, and will then NOT fix it... (well they will, but it'll cost you $75.)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl utilizes a double-layer disc which has a large memory capacity. A very small percentage of Wii consoles may have trouble consistently reading data off this large capacity disc if there is some contamination on the lens of the disc drive. Nintendo has specialized cleaning equipment that can resolve this problem. (Please do NOT attempt to clean the lens yourself, as you may damage the system.)

You don't understand. The problem IS your Wii. Brawl is dual-layered DVD, so the laser has to be more sensitive to read it. If the lens are dirty, then the laser is less sensitive, thus making the game hard or impossible to run. But other games work perfectly.

Do you smoke? Do you dust your wii now and then?

Tabacco and dust are the main causes for lens contamination. Either you sendyour wii to Nintendo, or you open the Wii yourself and clean the lens (which I don't reccomend, as you can damage you wii).

i say again, dont try it yourself, if nintendo sees that you caused more damage, they may charge you for the repair.

Apparently this guy used a lens-cleaning disc to clean up the Wii lens. Don't worry it won't damage your Wii, or Void the Warranty. Just try it before you send your Wii.

You might have to try it multiple times if it doesn't work on first try.

Send everything (console and game) at Nintendo. The problem is the disc. SSBB is using a dual-laying DVD. Nintendo will fix it. Don't trade anything in store.
