I was unsure about this game. Should I get it? Should I not? This would be my first Punch Out game and I wasn't sure if the gameplay was for me.

I watched a live stream of it on backloggery last night and had a blast even just watching so I decided alright I'll get the game.

I am glad I did. I'm currently on defend your title Don Flamenco and after that crazy battle with Bear Hugger and Great Tiger I officially love this game. I'm making this post to take a break before I take on Don becasue playing Great Tiger's insane color matching game from hell I'm way too twitchy to try another bout.

Anyway simply but, the game exceeds expectations. Frustration has never caused me to laugh so hard.

I had the same problem. At first, I thought I'd regret buying Punch Out!!, but it turned out to be my 4th favorite Wii game. It's so addicting that I have to take a break every once and a while because my arm starts to hurt.

I haven't been using motion controls but I think I might have passed out at this point if I had.

Try the motion controls man. They're fantastic.

Yeah it's an awesome game. I'm up to Don Flamenco on Title Defense mode as well. I used the motion controls for the first two circuits in contender mode, but switched to the sideways wiimote at that point. Once I beat all the modes and have each fighter down fairly well, I plan to switch back to the motion controls. Perhaps I'll even use my balance board some day, hehe.

I just beat Soda Popinski on TD mode. I have never been so excited to beat a "boss" if you will ever. Maybe once when I was like 8 and killed Ganon, maybe. Anything that can bring that much childhood excitement back to me was totally worth the money

Really?

I've never played Punch-Out, and I thought I wouldn't like it at all.

I decided not to get it. I guess I will have to re-think it.

Indeed it is a really fun game and I'm glad your enjoying it, I always felt since the game was announced people were underestimating it but it certainly exceeded my expectations. I'm currently doing the challenges and fighting in champions mode which is pretty hard since every character can knock you down in one hit thus making them all Mike Tyson as far as difficulty goes.

Punch Out is the first game in the last 12 months for the Wii that is an absolute "must buy" game. Kudos to Nintendo for this great revival of their classic franchise. Shame on Nintendo for not doing this on the Wii with their other classic franchises that have been completely neglected this gen.

Wow. TD Bald Bull has just been wiping the floor with me. I can't correctly stop the bull charge in TD mode. Just can't time that one punch. Such a shame cause I can dodge everything else

How long does it take to finish the game? I'm wondering if this game should be a rental of buy?

do you define beating the game as beating everyone? beating them on TD? Beating Last Stand? Beating Champion Mode? Beating all the challenges? if its all of the above its a very long game

It's not a game you beat and that's it. It's a game full of replayability. Replay the fights for the challenges or for the fastest time. I've been a Punch-Out fan pretty much all my life. I had incredibly high expectations for this game. I am astonished that it actually met and exceeded them.
