Yoshi's island VC help

can you save in this game? I almost got to the last level and then I get a game over and I have to start ALL over againfred1712

I had Yoshi Story on my n64 and if I remember correctly, it had a save feature. As a young kid, I wouldn't play any game besides SMB without save features, and YS was one of my childhood favorites.

Actually I didn't. I own Yoshi's Island for GBA so I haven't really noticed if it's on the Virtual Console yet.
