While it has aged poorly in some regards (the whole gen aged poorly as a whole)it is still a remarkable game. I played it for the first time in 08 off the VC and could defiantly see why it was so highly regraded. The 3DS verison is still very good but a few changes could have immortalised the game forever

For me, Zelda lost the magic in the transition to 3D. I'll play the hell out of ALttP, Link's Awakening, and even the Minish Cap, but the 3D Zeldas frustrate me.

I don't think it has lost its magic. I found the 3DS version to be as enjoyable as the original, perhaps even more so. The visuals added a lot more to the game, artistically, and it compliments the music in creating an brilliantly atmospheric world. Still not my all time favourite game, but i've completed it 3 or 4 times now, which, considering it's length, is more than I have for most other games i've played.

The magic bar is the same size as it was before and all of the original's spells are retained, along with any other attacks that use magic./sarcasm

denying that OoT is a great game is silly. saying it still is the greatest game of all time, judging by current standards (and i don't even mean graphics) is just as silly.

It lays in the details. The gameplay didn't need a change but the enviroment could have useda few touchs.

I think it still holds up incredibly well, a lot of games from the PS1 and N64 era will probably be dreadful to play today, but with just a graphical upgrade it received for the 3DS Zelda still feels relatively modern.

It's a great game but not my favorite Zelda game. It's definitely not the best game ever with today's standards. The combat and horse-riding feels dated and it should have been improved in the remake.

For me OoT never had any magic to begin with. I got the 3DS version thinking things might be different but no, I've probably tried to play though OoT close to 50 times now (in general, not just 3DS version), but the furthest I ever got was to the Water Temple on the GCN version that came with Wind Waker, before becoming sick of the game (these days I'm lucky if I get the Zora's Sapphire before becoming bored with the game).

i played OOT after WW (i got OOT on a disc that came with windwaker). so i never really got the wow factor that many did. apparently the likes of hyrule fields were amazing at the time but i was never blown away. i can see why many were but...well i had just played WW. its a good game but i wasnt there for the wow.

Having tirelessly played it back when it released on N64, I've no intention of getting the 3DS version. It's nice to see newer gamers play it though.

Coming from someone who's playing it for the first time on 3DS, I have to say I am very impressed with it and am enjoying it thoroughly. I can easily see why it's said to be one of he greatest games ever.

It still has it's magic. The fact that for it's time it is considered the greatest game of all time and the fact that every successive Zelda takes the exact same formula but with design changes and they still get 95+ ratings shows how great the original layout was. Majoras Mask is still better though.

I don't like the remake very much. Links movement with the circle pad is a bit broader than he used to be and isn't quite as nimble as on the n64.. and Link is OVERPOWERED Just mash the B button and you kill everything, like I don't know if anyone noticed but his sword range is crazy now, like in the orignal you really had to try to make contact with whomever you where trying to kill but in this his swords range just slashes everywhere. I still love the n64 version but I didn't really enjoy the remake.. I wanted more new from it as well, I hate it when games just update graphics and call it a day.

I grew up playing The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, it was my very first Legend of Zelda games and it is a stapple of my childhood gaming memories. Does it still have the magic? Yes, it made me tear up . I'm not kidding, the music is so beautiful.

I try to not ask for remakes, but a direct sequel or port to Wind Waker would look gorgeous in 3D. I mean seriously, Wind Waker in 3D guys. Three Dee Sailing.

Not even a little. Still the best 3D Zelda, and arguably the best Zelda game to date. That said, ALTTP is the best 2D one, at which point it comes down to preference. Perfect Dark aged. Goldeneye aged. DOnkey Kong 64 aged. Clayfighters 63 1/3 ageed. OoT has NOT aged ;).

It's aged a little. Pushing blocks is clever for about 5 dungeons then it starts to get repetitive. Majoras Mask dungeon design is the best in the series with TP close behind.

After all these years, I can easily say it's still an awesome and fun game to play today. And I haven't played the game enough to be bored of it.

Nah, still love playing it. Not racing through it by any means, doesn't have that much a grip on me. But it's still a great game

Everyone has played LoZ: OoT so much now. Let's see you have it available on:

N64 - Original (Gold edition and Normal)

Gamecube - Legend of Zelda Collection andWind Waker Bonus Disc

Wii - Virtual Console

3DS - 3D Edition

That is a total of6 since the game came out.

I guess Nintendo has milked OoT too much and lost it's flair.

I just see it as a way to those you missed out on a great game could get a second chance in playing it.OOT would forever have it's magic regardless of how many times it's been put through different systems.

OOT has not lost its magic .. but it sure doesnt have enough magic for me to buy it on the 3ds when I already own it on N64 and beaten the game several times...but for people who never played it should buy it for the 3DS, money well spent.

Too many play-throughs for me. I'm sure other people feel the same.
