your un-bias opinion about wii

Make sure you check out the game library first, see if it's what you're looking for. And wouldn't you be losing some money on that deal?

Pro's:

Something new. The wii mote is a neat Idea and games like Wii golf and Wii fit change many peoles views on how they see video games.

Hardcore games work. Nintendo and Capcom had showed that hardcore games work with the Wii. Even though I'm against RE4 for the Wii since it has already been released twice. It shows that traditional games work with the Wii.

Wii channels. I'm surprised how much I use them, I like being able to look at the weather and spin that globe around, checking news and voting are all good features that grow on you.

Con's:

In my honest opinion many game developers are developing games around the Wii mote instead of actually making games based off interesting ideas or stories they want to tell. You look at games that are good, RE4,MP3,Zelda. All of these games were not built around the Wii mote. Instead the Wii mote just well works, and that's all I want in my games controls. Sure there's a place for the Wii Sport's and the Wii fit's but not every game needs to go all out in designing a game around a controller.

What needs to change:

...... dev's need to develop games because they have passionate idea's and believe in there product. Other than Nintendo majority seems there just throwing something together and hoping to get a quick buck out of the large installment base. But you know I believe in time (sooner than latter hopefully) this problem will solve it's self.

agreed. there's already promise of hardcore games. just look at some people's sigs in these forums if you're wondering what i'm talking about.

I think the Wii is a fad. Most of the games it gets are Wii-hashed last gen stuff reworked to use the wand. Get it if you want to play Mario and Zelda games....that's the only reason.

THe 360 is a real current gen console and is going to have a much fuller life with alot more high quality games for its whole life. Much better one to own, if you only own one.

well the 360 has more games and they are good one's too but wii also has some decent games and will be getting more( Super smash bros etc.)
the wii also has a new playing system- some like it others dont so i suggest trying out the wii 1st

just brawl makes it worth the 259.99$plus applicable taxes

throw in the free online,mario kart,zelda,galaxy and the abundance of features its well worth it. But dont buy red steel.

I have all 3 systems and you are crazy to make that deal...maybe just do it for a few weeks or something. The Wii is pretty much a joke other than a few really good games...but ounce you beat a good wii game you have to wait a few months for the next good one to come out. So far its basically a PS2 with cool controls that arent used properly in 90% of games. As for the "free" online...well you get what you pay for, the few games online for the wii suck...seems about 10 years behind playing call of duty or halo 3 on the 360.

All these fanboys gotta stop over rating the wii games...game gets a score of like 4 from gamespot and other sites but "oh its so much fun 8.0" maybe when compared to your gamecube library but this is supposed to be next gen and I dont just mean graphics. Look around, all the talk is about games coming out and how great they are gonna be, we'll see.

anyway, trade for a few weeks maybe....beat Zelda and Metroid, bowl a few games on wii sports and come running back to your 360

you know it don't really have to be AAA games , just buy the ones you like. I know GS only give AAA games to the 360 but I really don't care. as long the games are good I could care less about stupid reviews.

I'm very happy with my Wii.....

Haven't bought one yet just for the reason of NO GAMES.

I own Zelda on my Gamecube, own Metroid Prime 1 and 2.

So far the only games interesting me on the Wii are...Zelda and Prime 3. Which honestly are not a huge step up from the last gens games.

I'll get one eventually, but they need to start putting quality titles out. Not these lousy graphic hash jobs that are nothing more than a gimmick.
