I was just wondering. I just wanted to know if when you all play Zelda TP, for example the Gerudo Desert at night (The most noticable). Doe's the ground flicker alot making it look kinda glitchy? I remember reading a while back that someone was saying it was a defect w/ the system, but then others said it was supposed to be like that. Any info on this would help, here's an example I found on youtube (Watch the ground flickering) http://youtube.com/watch?v=tmHL6cNTdT4... THanx in advance...

Well, if it's supposed to be there, it isn't pleasing to watch at all...

TP is a pretty glitchy game, specially the Wii version, which had to be mirrored in no time.

Well its noticable when the time changes in some areas from day to night. The area I thought was most noticable was the Gerudo Desert at night. If you can check it out and lemme know if it does the same thing that would be great.

It's 100% Normal. All 3D games have experianced stuff like this, it just doesn't always happen everywhere in a game. Forgot what the actual term is that describes it.

So you see it also? I was just asking about this cuz people started to make me think my system was defective. I wasn't really sure what to believe. I think the term your refering to is Artifacting cuz I heard them mention that. But they said that was a defect in the Graphix Card.

Yeah thats what I'm gonna do, but do you notice anything like that when you play Zelda? Try going to Gerudo Desert at night and let me know if you see that there. Thanx...

wow Nintendo must get really tired with all the kids calling them saying their Wii is broken because their disc slot turned blue or the ground in Zelda flickers in the Gerudo desert

It looks like the Wii can't decide what texture or filter to use on the ground at that moment. That's probably just a glitch. The Wii is trying to draw the appropriate graphic, but either the camera angle or lighting at that moment is messing with the Wii's ability to do so.

For example, that grass is green, obviously. But it's daytime and the sun is shining on it from a certain angle. Add to that any aliasing filter, or motion filter, or light-wrapping filter, or whatever. Now from a certain angle, that grass should look a certain way. But because the camera may be hovering at a point where it should look one way or the other, the Wii draws one set of graphics, checks to see if thats right and then draws the other option. I hope that makes sense.

I've noticed it in many places also. Hey I'm that kinda guy I guess. But I've even seen it in Lake Hylia. Don't worry. Just a little glitchy your Wii will make from time to time. Happens to others more often than other people. Heck first thing I saw in Hyrule at night was that ground aflickering. I wouldn't be TO worried about it though. If it's bothering you that much just clean the disk or blow in your Wii. Did that and it stopped. Well not entirely. Ever so often the ground will flicker but not as much.

I'm gonna be honest. I just beat that game last night and havent noticed anything wrong or crazy. Now when I played Devil May Cry 2 and Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness (2 games I reserved ) I noticed a whole boat load of glitches that ruined the game for me. Waste of $50.

Through out my entire play-through of Zelda TP I have not noticed one glitch... I guess you've got to be looking for them to notice them. I was having way too much fun to notice any flickering shadows.... oh well.

First of all I'm 23, and I read about this else where and they were saying it might be cuz of the Graphix Card overheating, they were also saying that it isn't normal for it to do so. I'm just finding out if my Wii is defective moron so don't make any judgments before you know the facts.

Well its not that I've been looking for them, I just read online about someone bringing this up saying it wasn't normal for it to do so and that it might be the Graphix card overheating.

Its a glitch in the graphics system of the game. As someone pointed out earlier, a lot of 3D games have this happen. Its a problem of flickering textures and anti aliasing combined with distance from the object. There are some areas in the game you probably notice this where the developers didnt quite cover all their bases. But its not an overheating/malfunctioning Wii system. You'll know if your Wii is breaking down.....

Thanx, that's prolly what the problem is. I was just wondering cuz people were saying it was something bad. I guess they are confusing it w/ something else. Thanx to everyone else who explained this to me as well.
