I was playing Mario 64 for DS and I couldn't help thinking: wouldn't it be cool if Nintendo makes the Zelda Ocarina of Time for the DS?

Personally, Zelda OOT is my favorite game of all times. I would love to carry it with me all the time as well...

What do you guys think? :)

Never played OOT. But everybody who played it seems to love it, and it sounds like one of the best games ever, so ofcourse I want OOT on the DS.

bit of a misleading thread! it would be cool but i dont think it would happen. Its only just out on VC and its a bigger game than Mario 64. may not fit on a ds card.

It will fit on the card.

The DS cards can hold up to 1Gb which is 128MB and OoT is at maximum 32MB since it's using a 32MB cartridge.

It's certainly possible, but I don't see it coming any time soon because Nintendo is still making Phantom Hourglass.

Zelda OoT without texture filtering?  *busts head on desk*

No, even if they could, I hope they don't because I want to see new Zeldas come out, not ones that I've already played.

Yup that's what i ment and what i typed. ;)

GB = Gigabyte

Gb = Gigabit

There's 8 bits on 1 byte so 1Gb = 128MB

1024/8 = 128

Enough with the math.

128MB= DS card

32MB= the game size.

I think i'd prefer Phantom Hour Glass instead of Ocarina Of Time as i'd rather play a game designed for the DS rather than a home console. I don't see Ocarina making much use of the DS as it is. Unless it was redesigned in a similar fashion to Phantom Hour Glass.

Two very different development teams are needed for porting a game vs. making a new game from the ground up. I'm sure it wouldn't interfere with Hourglass at all, for them to do that. They certainly wouldn't pull an expert dev team off of a new game to port a game in which the real work has already been done.

Wouldn't it make a totally awesome preorder gift, like when they released it on the Gamecube? :)

this is like the 1000th time i seen this topic about OoT appearing on the DS...

one of those times was last year in april where someone posted a fake picture of a
DS with screens from OoT...

some really easily-excited people fell for that joke...

Zelda OoT was great same with majora and Twilight Princess. Wind waker was okay, but only because of toon link. I had fun with phantom hourglass, but the controls seemed weird and the camera was at a stupid angle. I thought why not just make a new zelda with OoT gameplay for ds, it could have a new story and everything,with a regular Link. the ds has enough buttons to play a game like that, and its graphics capabilities were proven when everyone played mario 64 on ds, which totally killed the N64 version. Although phantom hourglass was fun i hated the controls, please Nintendo just make the dang game that we have all wanted for ssssooooooo long.
