Just bought Twilight Princess again. I had the Gamecube version but had to sell it because my Cube was getting old. I regretted it ever since because I really loved that game.

I guess my question is to those who played both the Cube and Wii versions of Twilight Princess. I know that with Resident Evil 4, it felt like a new experience on the Wii even though I passed the game multiple times on the Cube and the PS2.

Is it the same with Twilight Princess? If I played the Cube version, will the Wii version provide a breath of fresh air? Aside from the controls, I know the Wii version has widescreen and everything is mirrored to the right-side. Is that enough to make the game feel brand new again?

What do you guys think?

The waggle for swinging the sword is mildly annoying, but aiming with the bow and hookshot is nicer on the Wii version. It's not like you need the Wii version if you enjoyed the GC version, though.

Exactly the same to me, the motion controls did not define the experience at all. Infact, I forgot I was using after about 15 minutes, so they didn't make the experience any better(outside of fishing, which I loved with the Wiimote) nor did it in any way hinder the experience.

Id say its a newer feeling experience than the gamecube version, better aiming, you can hold more items, widescreen support, faster spin attack, etc. Its mainly the little things that i think make it the better version, although there both great and enjoyable so you cant really go wrong either way.

We just had another topic about this recently, you can find a vid that shows the differences and some other stuff hereTwilight Princess Gamecube vs Wii

i prefer the gcn version. the sword waggle was just plain silly. all it does it replace pressing a button with waving your wiimote any which way. using the pointer for aiming projectiles isnt an improvement. for one, TP combat is still very much focused on swordplay so its wouldnt have been a big deal even if it were an improvement. as it stands, the gcn aiming works fine and doesnt have the ridiculous blurry red reticule (though i suppose if it didnt bother you in re4, it wont bother you in TP).

its the same experience really but i found the GC version simpler to control.

being able to move the camera with the cstick was great too.

Biggest difference for me by far was aiming weapons like the bow and arrow, the slingshot, etc. Wii version is much better in that regard. Other than that, there's no significant difference either way. The mirroring thing between the versions is slightly disorienting, but not so much that it's completely new.

Depends. Waggle was extremely annoying at the final boss. The IR seems a little off too. Fishing was awesome though. Over allI think the Gamecube one was much better.
