Zelda: Twilight Stuck

My 9 year old is stuck in the game where a lady hands him a fishing pole and then it dissapears. What should he do so he can keep/use the fishing pole?

press B and then point at the rod with the wii mote and press B to assign it. Took me forever to find it out too.

To fish move the mote up and down slowly and when you've got a fish lift it up and keep it there - don't jig it about like I did for about two hours like a fool!
