Hey everyone. More rumours (which will probably be the last ones) are floating around the Internet, and this time they are rumoured to be from Eiji Aonuma's papers of Zelda WII for E3 leaked. This news sounds like the most reasonable ones and are truly interesting:

1. Zelda Wii's official title is "The Legend of Zelda". There will be no subtitle.
2. The game tells a story several hundred years before Ocarina of Time. It also answers the question of how the Master Sword came into being.
3. The fairy-like girl is a very important character in the game. Her Name is Zordiana.
4. The Hookshot is also in the game and it has new abilities. It will not pull you immediately to the target you aimed at. Now it is possible to swing with the Hookshot, like with the Grappling Hook from TWW. The Hookshot makes no use of Wii Motion Plus.
5. Sometimes you have to "draw" a specific symbol on a door with your sword to open it.
6. The Bow controls are very similar to the Bow controls in Wii Sports Resort, as the script shows.
7. There are two levels of difficulty. Aonuma made it though, Miyamoto didn't want to include it. There is a Normal Mode for amateurs. The Hero Mode has no "Super Guide" included and the enemies are tougher.
8. The on-stage dungeon, which is also playable at E3, isn't a Dungeon as we know it from the Zelda series. When entering a Dungeon, you will not notice you are in one. It will be a smooth gradation. There will be dungeons with no bosses and bosses with no dungeon. The "dungeon" you are able to play at E3 will be an ice level. It will be the first "dungeon" in the Game.

(EDIT) Here is the link to the article I got the news from:

http://www.zeldadungeon.net/2010/06/zelda-wii-information-leaked-2/#more-2712

So what do you guys think? I personally tend to trust these rumours more than any of the previous ones. Post your thoughts.

Seem very good. I especially like the super mode! That is good to know Nintendo (wait it is supposedly included right?) is thinking of the "hardcore" audience. So Miyamoto did NOT want to include this hard mode? if so, Miyamoto should be fired and Aunoma made head of all creations lol. darn you Nintendo, it is going to be hard for me not to buy a Wii for this!

Oh please! Rumors. It's useless. Everything involving Zelda has been completely useless since last year's Nintendo Conference / Roundtable, except the Wii Motion Plus. We'll talk June 15th.

ok fair enough to discuss. Basically a "what do you think will be shown for Zelda in a few days" And I just got an email saying I have to work on the 15th. Can't get the day off. Depressed. Pissed. Aggravated. Annoyed. Angry. Frustrated. Sad. Upset. Disappointed.

How can the Hookshot not make use of Motion Plus? :?

LegatoSkyheart

It would probably just use the pointer... Motion Plus doesn't improve the pointer, nor does it need to.

IR wouldn't need Motion+.

Although, I wouldn't like to see the bow rumor true. I was hoping for IR aiming for that.

All sounds plausable except fot the hero mode. If miyamoto doesn't want and extra mode, there won't be an extra mode.

Eh, it all sounds plausible because unlike usual rumors, it uses evidence to support it. Typically people come up with nonsense straight out of left field, but the early stuff is things people guessed last year from the artwork. I even said that thing about using your sword to carve last year and since Aonuma said there would be a change to the pacing, directly referring to how you go about the temples, so that would make the latter stuff sound plausible. So all in all, its no more believable than any other rumor, they just chose not to go the magic game route that; would look better than Uncharted 2, with online play and come packed in the with a sword and shield peripheral and other such nonsense. Also what would be the point of saying that the hookshot doesn't use WM+, what would you take it out everytime your using the hookshot. Even if pointer controls didn't use WM+ like in RS2, there would be no need to say it.

Well, it doesn't matter because I doubt any of it is true lol. I do what your doing as well, I watched all the conferences for all consoles even when I didn't own them. I looked into games, I knew from the start I would have no interest in buying. I'll be doing that again this year.

The super guide really isn't a bad idea for those who found Zelda difficult over the years. I was just speaking to someone, who never really got into Zelda because of the difficulty. Zelda is a very recognizable franchise. Whenever I over hear it being brought up, people have positiver or negative views about it. The negative views usually stem from difficulty. However, you must keep in mind, these views come from people who are either not into games that much or are into games, but just don't like adventure/puzzle games.

I for one, have played tougher franchises than Zelda, as many of you have as well. So the super guide won't be utilized very much by me.

My thing is, what's the purpose of adding such a guide to franchise that known to be difficult to those of the 'expanded audience'? I ask this, because I want to know how will Nintendo convey to such an audience that if you think this game is hard--hey we have a super guide to help you! If I never got into Zelda because of difficulty, how would I know that the next Zelda game has some special guide that can help me? That's why I think that the addition of a super guide in a game like Zelda is a waste of resources, cuz you already know who's gonna buy it and who's not. Unless you can find a way SHOWING and TELLING people that you won't have trouble with next Zelda, then it's already set in stone who will pick it up.

It symbolizes a fresh start. The old formula was getting repetitive, and it had to be fixed.

nah not necessarily, but I get where you are coming from. Usually when things such as a bands album are self titled well into their life cycle it is more of a symbol of a rebirth for the band/franchise. I HIGHLY doubt this is the last zelda. Probably just what Nintendo feels is zelda starting over.

anyway we will find out on tuesday!

These particular rumors definitely have more of a truthful feel to them.

I have to say, if this is all true, I'm digging it. It sounds like a lot of new but incredibly productive innovations for the series. And now, we wait...

Only one game should be called just The Legend of Zelda-the original for the NES. I know they are basically remixing (for lack of a better word) the entire franchise and basically going back to the drawing board with nothing but the character Link, but why do they need to use the original title? If they were to use the original, they should just redo the original in 3D (which would be amazing).

I'm really not keen on the idea of it being called just "the ledgend of Zelda"
