1. Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music
I'll admit I don't listen to this as much as I did when it first released but it's still one of the better albums I've heard this year. didn't think Killer Mike would match up well with the production from El-P but they aeem like they've been working together for years."Reagan" a strong contender for song of the year too
 2. Roc Marciano - Reloaded
like greneberg this has that classic east coast gutter feel to it. you will either love it or hate his style. Some really nice production from Alchemist, Q-Tip, and himself. Definitely think this is the best from his solo workÂ
3. Apollo Brown & OC -Â "Trophies"
this could have been really amazing if Apollo Brown replaced O.C. with someone like Elzhi but instead he chooses to work with washed up rappers that continue to talk about the struggle (yawn). the beats on here are what save it and If you don't mind the rapping this is still pretty solid overall
4. LIL UGLY MANE - "MISTA THUG ISOLATION"
the producer/rapper LIL UGLY MANE aka Shawn Kemp made a lot of internet noise after this released and the hype was very much deserved
5. Curren$y & Harry Fraud - "Cigarette Boats" (EP)
this is definitely my favorite collaboration from Harry Fraud, the beats on here fit Curren$y like a glove. Will look forward to a full album from these guys in the near future
6. Oddisee - "People Hear What They See"
his first official solo debut and although I prefer his work more where he's producing like with Diamond District he really shines on some songs like "Ready to Rock", "Let it Go" and "You Know Who You Are". If you get a chance, check out some of the live versions, I think they sound even better
7. Freddie Gibbs - "Baby Face Killa"
another strong mixtape by Freddie Gibbs, although his content stays much of the same he's still one of the best technical rappers in the game. This tape has some nice guest features from Bizzy Bone, Z-Ro, & Curren$y
8. Lil B - "God's Father"
haven't checked out all of Lil B's tapes that he released this year but I doubt any of them are as strong as this. s/o to our boy AJ Rice for creating that beautiful instrumental for "SF Mission Music" which I still have on heavy rotation
9. Jeremiah Jae - "Raw Money Raps"
nothing amazing but it's a nice release from the Brainfeeder label. Jeremiah Jae shows off a little of his production skills as well giving us some nice instrumentals
10. Big K.R.I.T. - "Live From The Underground"
this has been a really disappointing year for rap, I guess we were spoiled by all his solid releases up to this point and I'm putting this on the list simply because there's some really good songs on here including "Money on The Floor"and "I Got This" plus the production puts its over the top for me
Songs of the year

2. Killer Mike - "Reagan"
3. Action Bronson - "BiRD ON A WiRE" (ft.RiFF RAFF)
4. G.O.O.D. Music - "New God Flow"
5. Curren$y & Harry Fraud - "Biscayne Bay"
