Allow me to reintroduce myself

With all the new members we've been getting since Off the Books became a union about 6 months ago, I thought an Introduction Thread would be a good idea so we could see exactly who our members are, where they're from, and what kind of tastes we all have... anyways...

I'm 19 and goto college at UF. But the city I'm from is Jacksonville, FL aka DUVAL aka Da Bang Em aka the murder capital of Florida and before then I lived in Tampa, FL and before that I lived in San Jose, Cali (YAY AREA!) which is where I was born. I'm a huge sports fan, I live and die by the Orlando Magic if you smart dumb cats couldn't figure it out... and also a big Florida Gators fan obviously. My favorite period in rap is the era from 1993-1996 with Outkast, Big, Jay, Nas, Wu, Tribe, Common, BCC, Organized Konfusion, etc. but I enjoy music from all over the place whether it be old school, new school, underground, and mainstream. I would love to one day get a job in the music business (industry rule #4080, record company people are shady :( ) after I get my business degree in college, but really I have no idea what I'll do after I get my degree.....just enjoying the college life for now8)

Well, I am 17 and live in Plano, Texas. I am in the soul sucking, time killing organization known as the Marching Band (wtf, our practices are almost as long as the football teams and we start a month before school), and I am entering my senior year at Plano East Senior High. I am a big sports fan, my favorite teams are the Tennessee Titans, Texas Rangers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors (Baltimore Ravens as long as McNair plays). I love music and movies and I have geeky habits, e.g. I collect comics and coins. I like hanging out with friends and am a pretty big gamer. I want to go to Harvard or NYU ideally (i want to be a businessman, not a business man:P) butI am also looking at UT Austin since it is a public school in my state. I guessI am into not a certain era of rap but the music in general, myfavoriteartist isEminem and favorite bandis Blink-182. Anyways Idon't know where my life is gonna take me butI got a year to get my stuff together, so yeah thatis me in a nutshell.

i have an unnatural obssesion with music, especially hip hop. i don't have one rapper that i like more than everyone else, i have about 10 rappers who are my favorites and they constantly change, right now its(in no order):andre 3 stacks, phonte, nas, p monch, murs, rakim, scarface, common, tonedeff and talib(those are my favorites, not who i think are the best ever)

i play video games from time to time(not as much as i used to), too many favorites to name(zelda's, halo's, splinter cell, RB6 etc...)

i have no idea wtf i wanna do with my life.

i heart the houston rockets, astros, texans and philly eagles

idk what else to put.....oh yea, i hate my job and can't wait to go back to school

GZA and Nas are my favorite rappers. Joe Budden is the future imo. I play rugby, video games from time to time, and I'm gonna go where life takes me. Kung Fu movies own imo, esp old ones with horrible dubbing. fat_rob

Damn what kind of grades do you have? I have a friend who got into NYU last year and tuition is like 40k+ per year, but he got in on a theater scholarship so he's not paying any of it.

But I would love to live in Greenwich Village in Manhattan which is where NYU is at when I'm older. My grandma and uncle live there close to the school. I love Greenwich Village.

I'm 17, I'm from the Illadelph, and I'm a huge sports fan. My favorite teams are the Eagles, LA Dodgers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Sixers, and Phillies. I'm also a big Penn State fan. My favorite genre is rap but I got love for pretty much anything but country or metal. I like comedy movies alot. I'm into video games(obviously) and I own a Gamecube and an Xbox 360. My favorite rappers are Nas, Rakim, Black Thought, Common, Andre 3000, and a few others. I don't plan to go to college. I'm bi-racial(Mexican and white) This isn't my first GS account:wink:

Hey, my real name is Ameet, and I'm a hip hop loving Indian. Born and raised in the Fiji Islands, where I lived in most of my life. Which is for around 11 years. I'm 16 now, and living in New Zealand. Gorgeous country btw. Hmm.. Im gonna be 18 in a few days, I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. My first love was rock and alternative music, but this board basically changed it all, I now almost listen to hip hop more than anything. My favortite artists are Atmoshpere, Felt, Brother Ali, TI, The Roots....I love Rhymesayers artists. I'm attending DePaul University in Chicago this next year as a freshmen. I plan on majoring in communications, I want to work for a record label, radio station or some sort of music related job, I really won't have it any other way, I just have to find out exactly what I want to to do. My dream job is to work for Blender Magazine, pick music for movies or be a Radio or club DJ.

I DJ on the side and am getting pretty decent with the turntables now days, I get a few gigs a month at friends partys and stuff, I gotta start some where. So now I listen to alot of DJ and Producer albums like A-Trak (Kanye's Turntablist, check out his album), Diplo, DJ AM, DJ Lobsterdust..etc.

Im pretty fashion forward, I spend alot of money on clothes and shoes, I own about 20 pairs of Nike SBs and other variants. So if im not buying music im buying clothes, :lol:

I was born in California and still live there...I started to like hip hop around when probably 8 Mile came out, Eminem was a really great MC and he was one of my favorites back then. My taste back then was more mainstreme, I was into a lot of Eminem and 50 Cent but I later on got myself Illmatic, The Chronic, and other hip hop classics....I still liked a lot of radio rap though but I also loved old west coast and east coast hip hop....later on I got bored of all that radio rap and it got repetitive so my taste changed when I joined a myspace group called hip-hop nation where they talk about both underground and old school...before I joined, I had SIRIUS radio and I heard Lovin It by Little Brother and I really loved that song a lot and that group said The Minstrel Show was a good album. So my taste did mature overtime.

Anyways...some of my favorites are (in no particular order for most): Masta Ace, Jay-Z, Joe Budden, Wu-Tang Clan, Big L, Common, The Roots, Little Brother, 2Pac, Nas, DMX, Outkast, and Jadakiss.

However, I think its good to have variety in hip hop...I could go from Ace to Jay to Wu-Tang to Lloyd Banks to Outkast to Snoop, etc
