KRIT Wuz Here is nice, but honestly dude is SO OVERRATED. I rather hear dudes rapping on his tracks than him (case & point: Return of 4eva). That tape is good, but best of the year...? Meh...he's got loads of potential though.
For me it's Kush & OJÂ

J. Cole - The Blow Up (even if its unofficial its bettur than Friday Night Lights imo)
Cookin' Soul & DJ Whoo Kid - Night of The Living Dead Pt.3: Big L vs. Big Pun Edition (old ass verses from the their respective albums but imo worth a listen even with annoying DJ Whoo Kid shout outs on some tracks)
XV - Vizzy Zone (way too many videogame references but its still enjoyable)
and other mixtapes already mentioned here like K.R.I.T Wuz Here, Str8 Killa No Fila, Dont Mention It & Friday Night Lights :P

Wow, someone else (besides Rubbersoul) actually listens to Yung Redd here. Nice.
Anyways, Balmi nailed it - the #1 pick is definetely Travis Porter's "Proud to Be a Problem" (btw, Balmi, didn't you like "Diffrenter Gang" better at first?).

Yeah, but the diffrenter gang mixtape came out in 09 I believe. Anyway, after my first few listens my opinions comepletly reversed and I almost never listen to that (at least all the way through), while I play Proud to Be a Problem all the damn time.Travis Porter- Proud To Be A Problem
Carter- Going Hollywood
Lil B- Red Flame/Blue flame/ Eveil Red FlameÂ

Joe Budden is washed up lyrically now. His beats get repetitive after 1 minute into listening to the tracks and he doesn't come with as much ill punchlines anymore. MM4 grew on me,but no way in hell is it one of the best mixtapes this year.Black-DemonHe ain't washed up just cause he stopped being punchline heavy.

Coming from Buddens,I consider that washed up. That was pretty much why I enjoyed lsitening to him along with his dope storytelling (which on his newer mixtapes got boring to me also).
Okay, I can see that ... kinda like how most people bump Em for the shock value and completely glossed over how ill his verse and rhyme structure used to be and how well written some of his songs were. Since I only really liked those aspects of Em ... his new music is straight ass checks. Budden still has it imo, he's just shifted to a focus on non-punchline rapping.fat_robWord. Budden on a different type of ish.

That Proud to Be a Problem tape really is great ... I really think more people here would enjoy it but I don't see many people here having an open enough mind to really get into it.
