Elzhi- The World Is Yours (snippet)
Anyone have any info on Elzhi's upcoming release called ELmatic? Is he gonna be rhyming over all the old Illmatic instrumentals?

If this is true it definitely a bold move.
tbh I think he's wasting his time doing this. it's a cool idea, but he should be working on his next official album because I have great expectations for that.
^^ Relax, it's only a mixtape. Have you even listened to the snippet?

Yeah, its good. Genesis was sounding tight also. I'll definitely check this but I want a new Elzhi album ASAP instead of novelty mixtapes.
Damn, I was wondering what Elzhi has been up to.
What ever happened to that Royce and Elzhi album with Black Milk beats or was that only speculation? :?

It has only been about 6 months since the release of The Preface, let him cool off a bit and come out with a good stress-free mixtape for the time being. i dont know where you get your news fromDamn, I was wondering what Elzhi has been up to.

That would be nice.
There's also a Random Axe (Black Milk + Guilty Simpson + Sean P) album on the cards. I'm looking forward to that.
[QUOTE="elpooz"]I don't think anyone even deserves to touch the Illmatic beats...

Idk... i'd kinda love to hear Lil Wayne cry and bust on himself over some of them.
Sonds dope though, mixing one of my favorite MCs with some of my favorite beats of all time.
funny. atleast that wouldn't put me to sleep like blu does.Â

[QUOTE="fat_rob"]December...HaSheeSh_basic:| really? got a link?
AC: Following The Preface here, do you see yourself working on some more solo stuff or going back to collaborations for the next part of your career?
EL: Well I've got a mixtape coming out in December, I like to give a shout out to one of the illest rappers who's still breathing right now, Nasir. I've got a record where I'm giving tribute. I actually got the idea from my boy DJ House Shoes and the name of the mixtape is Elmatic and it's a tribute to the cIassic album Illmatic that Nas put out so in a way it's me giving my own personal hip-hop honor to him, so I'm getting that mixtape ready, hopefully it should be ready in December. I'm working with Fat Kat on his new record, I'll be on like 80% of that record. I'm also working with T3, we're doing a mixtape for DJ Who Kid right now but at the same time me and Royce are getting our thoughts together for our collaboration, but at the same time I'm still planning on putting out an album after the mixtape called The Feed and that's going to be bigger and better than The Preface.

damn so that was decided upon a long time ago, I thought it was slated for a release this summer. oh well...What's taking him so long to release this. Since this thread was first made Fashawn had enough time to make his own mixtape with the same concept, Ode to Illmatic, and release it a year ago. Still heavily anticipating the Elzhi project it's just taking forever.Orlando_MagicToo bad, the Fashawn mixtape was average at best. Elzhi is obviously working this project up to perfection.
Not to mention, all the illmatic beats were recreated with live instruments.
Elmatic is out now. Elzhi has partnered with XXL Magazine and the mixtape is now available for free download through XXL. You can also pre-order a limited edition physical copy off his website for $15.
