Lol at Toriko saying all of SH sounds the same... they don't at all. Ortiz and Budden sound nothing like Crooked or Royce... Royce and Crooked can sound somewhat similar at times, but not often.

And I don't really see why people make that "Crooked has no album out" argument... his mixtapes are dope, his freestyles are dope, his stuff with SH is dope, etc... why does it matter? He gives us good music to listen to, period. I'd rather have that than the 1,000 rappers who put out horrible albums.

Mkavanaugh77

Wow, Elpooz is the man on this one

Do you really need a album to enjoy a rappers music?

I sure dont, as long as the quality is there, the effort , the passion, i can respect it.

Sure i like to listen to a full album, but I enjoy listening to rappers putting out music on the web to listen to.

you need a few actually if you're gonna say something dumb like he's the best alive. how are you gonna call someone the best alive when they cant even compose an album? thats what he's gonna be rememberd by, no one remembers mixtapes

[QUOTE="Demonic_Jin"]The hooks kill it for me, they're so pop...he's going for the 14 year old girl market now -.-elpooz

... How are the hooks pop? That's the last way I would describe them...... and even if that is an apt description for them, that doesn't mean he is going for the "14 year old girl market" with this album. No song on here even remotely seems like something one would record and go "hey, I think 14 year olds would love this!" That's not to say that these songs wouldn't appeal to people of that age/gender match, but rather that it's clear that he did not record these songs with the intention to please that audience and that these songs simply are not ones that would appeal primarily or even strongly to that audience...

All of the lyrical content is the sentimental stuff teenage girls love. Stuff like 'Can't tell you what it really is/I can only tell you what it feels like/Right now its like a steel knife in my wind pipe/I can't breath but I'll still fight'.

I don't know about you, but I know a lot of the girls at my school would hear that and think 'omg thats so deep I so know what he's saying'

LOL,of all the things girls who don't listen to much rap say, that comment annoys me the most.

"*Gasp* Have you heard Fireworks by Drake? Ugh that song is so deep he's so real"

Thats when I cock the shotgun and ask them head or chest.

And yet...He still can't put out his LP. He's been in the game for more than a decade and no one wants to release a Crooked I album.

Even Yung Berg has a debut LP.

Soulja boy has a album out too, do you think he is better than Crooked I?

Soulja Boy is doing things in Hip Hop I can give him credit at least.

When Crooked I puts out an album, I'll give the dude a pat on the back. Otherwise he's just another fish in the sea.

an album alone does not determine who is better than who, however a rapper cannot be GOAT without even releasing an album.

Black Thought and The Roots do the Jimmy Fallon show...And they record their album when they have time.

Despite these conditions, they still managed to make one of their best albums in years.

I mean come on...

lol this kid is trolling hard. he has not valid defense to back up anything he says. is this how otb is now? people can't even defend their arguments so they just repeat the same nonsense over and over?

I remember the arguments me and LM used to have, that ish would go for pages, none of this nonsense like this though.  Jeez, I think I lost some IQ points.

W.T.P. is actually kinda fun. Y'all haturz.

But yeah the album is like a 7.5/10 for me. The choruses make it a tad repetative, but there's some dope songs here and there. Almost Famous is just crazy.

I'm not feeling this album much anymore either. I kind of got bored with it.

There's still bangers, Talkin' To Myself, Cold Wind Blows, Almost Famous, No Love, Cinderella Man, but that's about it...Album needed to be cut down a bit

Personally I still enjoy it. It's just not as cohesive as his other good albums, plus the production is repetative, so are the choruses. Still good overall.

Favourites: Cold Wind Blows, Talkin 2 Myself, Going Through Changes, Cinderella Man, Almost Famous. I also liked Seduction, Nove Love, Space Bound, 25 to Life, but at times they felt out of place or had things that really let them down. Like the chorus to You're Never Over. What the hell was he thinking?

After giving the album a few more listens, though some songs I've heard more than others - favourite tracks have to be:

Almost Famous; Talkin 2 Myself; Not Afraid; Love the Way You Lie and No Love. I'm not a big fan of Cinderella Man, I don't understand why so many people like it. I also like both the bonus tracks. Overall, it's much better than Relapse, IMO.

As for his sales, I'm not surprised, he obviously has a very strong and loyal fan base, dude's never gonna sell less than 500k in a week
