These five are among my favorites taht I've heard this year....most because they have had the biggest influence on me...the first two in particular are my two favorites that I've listened to this year

1. Radiohead - "Kid A" (2000)

This album just blew the whole spectrum open. I became open to so many different types of music after listening to this. Not to mention, this IS the definitive Radiohead album, I don't care what anybody says. The production is top notch, and Thom Yorke has only sounded better on "The Bends."

Idioteque // Everything In Its Right Place

2. King Crimson - "Red" (1974)

I can't say ENOUGH about this album because it's so good. This will go down as one of my favorite albums ever, and is easily my favorite King Crimson disc. Every song is of epic proportions; Robert Fripp on guitar is top notch, the vocals and lyrics are incredible, and so much time and effort was clearly put into this album. I love this disc so much.

One More Red Nightmare // Red

3. Sufjan Stevens - "Illinois" (2005)

For me, this may be the definitive album of this decade. Sufjan Stevens is EXACTLY what music needs, and this album proves it. His music is so ambitious, and this is his best piece of work. The man put out an album of b-sides to this album, and it STILL is better than 80% of the **** being dropped in the industry. Sufjan Stevens is the most talented man in music today, and I have no problem admitting it.

Come On! Feel The Illinoise! // Casmir Pulaski Day

4. The Beatles - "The White Album"(1968)

This album proved it to me. When I say "it" I mean in, and ALL hype the Beatles ever garnered. This album blows the **** out of Sgt. Pepper, and it's really not even close. It incorporates Pop, Country, ****c Rock, Soul, Blues, Progressive, Folk, and a few other genres, and the Beatles do just about every ****to perfection.

Ob La Di, Ob La Da // I Will

5. Prince - "Sign 'O' The Times" (1987)

Probably the best double CD I'd ever heard until "The White Album." Prince had already released c|assics in "Purple Rain" and "1999" that I had heard, but this album really beats both up. I wasn't really sure why I wanted this album up here, and then I remembered that I couldn't deny the best Prince album in my top 5 of this year.

Madvillain - Madvillainy

A gem, one of my favorites that I've discovered this year...Still can't get enough. I don't need to list any tracks since everyone here has heard it.

Buck Tick - Tenshi No Revolver

If there was a J-Rock album I could say I loved that came out recently, it'd be this one. Buck Tick is just too damn consistent for me to hate.

Alice In Wonderland Underground

Spider

Beast

Miyavi - Myv Pops

This Miyavi album is the definition of crack cocaine in musical form. Every track on here is enjoyable. Most likely the most entertaining solo performer I've ever seen...

Senor, Senora, Senorita

Kimi Ni Negai Wo

Sekai wa Kimi wo ****

It's funny how I had never heard an MF Doom album before this year and now he's an easy Top 5 of all time for me. Dude's a genius and this album proves it. No need to post any tracks since you've all heard it.

Society of Soul comes 2nd actually. Pushin is still my all time favourite song, but the album lacks consistency...so many redunant tracks. 8 tracks out of 16 are the ones worth listenin to....:|

lol, maybe I'm hating but I can't imagine liking Taylor Swift.

Then again, I like Backstreet Boys, and High School Musical's first disc. Meh.

Yeah, White Album and Abbey Road are 1, and 2 for me....then Rubber Soul. lol @ Sgt. Pepper's being better than the White Album. Let It Be >>>> Sgt. Pepper's, and that's the damn truth. Sgt Pepper's is probably my least favorite of all the Beatles albums beginning with Rubber Soul...albeit, I haven't listened to Yellow Submarine.

For the "2nd gen" beatles albums, IMO...

White Album > Abbey Road > Rubber Soul > Let It Be > Magical Mystery Tour = Revolver > Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club's Band

I know that. Cool Like Dat was the song that got me into them. I started off with Reachin, then moved on to Blowout Comb which was a lot better
