Was browsing around and found a VERY good read on the Graduation blogspot. Hip-Hop's Third Renaissance: Taking Back the Music We Love. I think the man has a very good point, and I really hope that he is right. What's y'alls take on this?

It's interesting but it got so cliche and corny on the last paragraph.

Its not a bad read, but I dont really agree.

While encouraging us to buy and not download/pirate is all well and good, saying that we should stop re-listening to all the past era's of rap and bring on the new one is not something I see myself doing, seeing that 90% of the music I listen to is at least 5 years old.

Well, I don't think his point was to stop listening to the older stuff, but to really be open to and support the new guys that are actually changing things up in a good way. Nowadays it seems like everyone is just looking to be the next Big or Pac, but what we need is something new that equals that in greatness, and not the same old rehashed stuff. At least thats what I got from it.

Well it's true. We're mostly living in the past with the next "2pac or biggie".

Yeah. Dude is right, but downloading sings ain't gonna get it alone. The fact of the matter is that the corporates and conglomerates and all these radio folks still have too much influence.

Proof is the fact that this guy has a music video.
