Anyways, I'll still probably check out this album, since I am a long time Jake One fan, but I'm really not all that excited about the list of emcees. I really wish he would've put more rappers from Washington or the Bay on there, since he's got strong connections to both scenes. Or, hell, even some G-Unit rappers (he does production for them too, apparently). I'm sure the beats will be pretty good, but most of these rappers aren't too exciting ...

Edit: Nice, I didn't notice Casual was on the list.

Also, I don't have high hopes for that Keak track. Backpacker producers trying to work with Keak doesn't turn out well (see: DJ Shadow); however, backpack rappers trying to work with Keak has turned out fantastic (see: "That Go (Remix)", where Alchemist has one of my favorite verses from this year, and Prodigy gives the best verse I've heard from him in a long time).

I use the term pretty liberally, and I use it more often to refer to their fanbase than the actual rappers themselves. Most of the people checking for a new Alchemist album are probably the same dudes checking for a new Little Brother album, and, frankly, I'm about as excited for a new Prodigy album as I am a new Little Brother album (which is a shame, since he is a great rapper).
