Jeez, I think I heard this Skylar Grey chick on 3 different songs just in the last 2 months, crazy. I dig her though and I like the song.

I don't really like this. Lupe just listing off a bunch of injustices in the world is getting old. He's done it like 20 times, I get it already.

Don't like Skylar Grey at all. Verses are ehh.

Beat is nice, though.

Skylar Grey is gonna be the next biggest thing. She co-wrote Dirty money's "I'm Coming Home" , wrote T.I.'s "Castle Walls" from No Mercy album, both "I Love The Way You Lie(s)" for Em and RiRi, and "I Need A Doctor" for Em and Dre.

yeah, ive always been a huge lupe fan, and i'm never one to complain when a socially conscious song makes it to mainstream hip-hop...but ok lupe, enough

After all Lupe's talk about not dumbing it down I think im gonna go ahead and say Lupe dumbed it down. He used to make genuinely smart, creative, songs but ever since he got labeled as "intelligent rap" he doesn't even try anymore he just lists things wrong with the world and expects to be called intelligent. What a clown.

Exactly.

At this point I don't know what to expect from Lasers because I really liked The Show Goes On.

True story, I haven't felt his music since Food & Liquor dropped, The Cool was wack and I don't expect more from Lasers.

I HATE his production

Agreed. I thought the production on the Cool fit Lupe's style a lot more than the generic soul samples of F&L. i really dont know what to expect from Lasers though..

F&L was wack too....dudes discography is lame.

He always puts out like 3-5 good song per album making it worth peeping..but as far as digging his music. Meh. That ship left long ago.

Food & Liquor was good when I bought it. I haven't listened to in in at least 3 years though. Not much staying power.

The Cool was a coaster. "oh im gonna rap from the perspective of a hamburger!"

so lame

This board was d-riding F&L so hard when it first came out...I remember me, and maybe Rob or BD were trashing it the entire time it came out. Orlandobot was really big on it iirc.

Honestly, The Cool has better highlights than F&L did with more staying power....F&L was just consistently boring. The Cool at least had some bangers...even though the bad songs were really, really bad.

^^^ I remember that....I never understood the hype for FnL.  I like the album, but it wasn't the classic errybody was proclaiming it to be.

I cannot co-sign to this list at all...you need to shave all the excess fat off that list. A lot of those songs are wack.

My favs would be Streets on Fire, Put You On Game, The Coolest, Dumb it Down, Hip Hop Saved My Life, Little Weapon and the Die.  The others are at least decent.

Hahaha you are so right.

Lupe is so overrated to me. I don't jam either of his albums AT ALL anymore because they always get old super quick. He's what I call a stale rapper.

I would rather listening to Lupe stating what is wrong with America on 6 different songs better than listening to rappers talk about money they don't have, cars they borrowed for a video shoot, women they never saw claiming they slept with, guns they fired but don't know how they look like, drugs they sold which they never touched and so on so on.

I agree, but some of his stuff is pushing it bit. I liked it better when he was a bit more subtle like in " Daydreamin' ". Listening to it now. Classic.
