Pushed back 2 months and leaked on the same day? Ouch. Yet to check it out though. I loved "Casa Bey."

Apparantly the delay is false source. I have to check the album out myself, because every preview I've seen so far claims its dope.

Wow, leak. I will be giving this a listen later tonight.

I've anticipated this album since...Black On Both Sides, really. Hope it's the old Mos, 'cause few - if any - are better than that.

Production on this joint is so nice, haven't bumped it enough but I'm really liking it so far. Also I think this officially comes out June 9, the delay was a false report.

Madlib and Oh No need to keep sending him beats from Beat Konducta in India and the Oxperiment because he is murdering those joints. Good album so far.

Oh man, I always wished someone would rap over Madlib's Movie Finale 2 years ago. Thank god.

Album is good overall

So what are some impressions of this album? For me right now, I'm not liking it as much as some of you...I think it's wildly inconsistant in some areas...I've only bumped it about 4-5 times though, so I want to give it some more listens.

Early Grade: C

Favorite Joints (no order):

1. Pistola
2. Supermagic
3. History feat. Talib Kweli
4. Auditorium feat. Slick Rick

Seriously, WHY is the Talib song, arguably the best song on the album, only 2 minutes long.

I think Mos' voice has deteriorated. I find it slightly annoying on this album.

yeah, i think that's the problem, i just couldnt get my finger on it. i love the production on the album, but dudes voice is weird now....it's like common. Commons voice on Ressurection >>>> Commons voice on Be, or anything after it....he sounds stronger on the songs on Ressurection than on Be or something recent where his voice sounds flimsy, and lazy. Black On Both Sides, Mos' voice sounded rougher, whereas now he just sounds lazy, and flimsy.....it seems like both of them have lost their mic prescence with age. It's a shame too, because this could have been a really great album.

okay, so to state the obvious the production is super amazing. Mos still got it, though I kind of agree with the whole voice thing. i'd say an 8/10 so far. Quiet Dog Bites Hard= My Jam 8)

Second best album of his career. Many will say it doesn't take much to upstage The New Danger and True Magic, but if it didn't, then we wouldn't have had to wait this long for a dope follow-up to Black on Both Sides from one of the game's most spirited emcees.

Production is on point throughout, top to bottom. This is where The Ecstatic most closely mirrors Black on Both Sides. Both albums had top-quality production, the kind that is built to stand the test of time.

I feel like Mos could have brought more to the table lyrically, but I'm not disappointed. I'm not saying the bars aren't there, because they are; 'Life in Marvelous Times', 'The Embassy', 'Workers Comp'and 'Auditorium'attest to that, as do many of the other joints. I just feel Mos didn't hit the level of variety he did on his debut. As in, there's no 'New World Water' on here. Tracks like that really solidified Black on Both Sides as an integral link in the grand tapestry of hip hop.

Bottom line, though: dope.

I really don't want to make a new thread so I'll just bump this one.

This album is sick, I love it. For me it's his best work since Black on Both sides. Roses, Casa Bey, History, The Embassy, Auditorium, all sick tracks.

Mos Def really brought it here and this is my favorite album of 2009 thus far methinks.
