[QUOTE="Colt45fool"]With the history of Florida receivers (Travis Taylor, Jabar Gaffney, Ike Hilliard, Reche Caldwell, Taylor Jacobs) I wouldn't count on it. I know as a Jet fan, looking at receivers for the first round, guys like Harvin is definitely one of the last guys on my list of wanted receivers. He's too small, runs poor routes, and he's injury prone...he even posted weak wonderlic scores :P He might turn out to be a nice #2/#3 receiver, but not much more than that.
I'd much rather prefer Kenny Britt, Heyward-Bey (though he needs to improve his intagibles--he reminds me too much of Troy Williamson), Maclin, or Hakeem Nicks....I think Kenny Britt is probably the most sure thing as far as first round receivers this year (well, outside of Crabtree but no one outside of the top 10 is getting him.

Those other Florida WR's were under Steve Spurrier and a completely different offense.
What are you basing his poor routes off of? Have you even seen him play? Because he runs great routes, he just didn't get to show it enough in college... people mostly know him as a running back and just assume he can't run routes...
Harvin is also more dynamic and explosive than any of the players you mentioned by the way. Harvin is more explosive than Desean Jackson too, Desean just has a little more straight ahead speed. But Desean Jackson is the most comparable player to Harvin imo... Harvin is bigger and stronger though.
Well, that's what I know him as mostly...idk, I just don't trust him as a #1 WR...he's an explosive player, and actually reminds me a lot of Reggie Bush really...thing is, we already have Leon Washington, and Brad Smith for the multi-purpose, potnetially explosive player. Thing about Harvin that scares me the most is his learning curve...how well does he really know how to play WR, and could he be a #1? You need more than speed to be an effective football player, and no offense but just about anything coming from Florida football is a question mark for how their play will translate to the pros. And even though most of those WRs I mentioned were in the Steve Spurrier era, I have yet to see a Florida player on offense break out in the Urban Meyer era. Until one does, I'm not ready to bank on a Florida player, especially not one in the first round.
