Fave songs...

CIassical (Intro): super sick first verse, and the choral singing is epic

Hurdle my opponents, run through problems
Unstoppable, I jump over obstacles
Stopping my grind's like stopping sunshine
So improbable
Probable, mission impossible
I say it two times ***** *****, stop lying
Bull**** you're selling, I am just not buying
Flow so nice but the kid's not kind
Swag sicker than a new flu that got called swine
Staying on point like a unicorn, strapped with a unabomb
Every day's a work day but don't wear a uniform
Gucci Mane the dapper don, capper like a Capricorn
Trapper month going on a money making marathon
You the Joker I be Robin and The Riddler's the Batman's stone
Trying not to **** my money up in rap career like Pacman Jones
Thumbprint me, fingerprint me
But can we agree to disagree?
I'm from East Atlanta 6, where the boys dump bricks
But we don't bump The Blueprint 3
Want to box me just like Max B
But you can't **** with me like Raz B
Like Ali I float like a butterfly sting like a bee
Cause it's big Gucci
Gucci!

Heavy: Gucci in mixtape form. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RxpRDKiDaI

All About the Money (feat. Rick Ross): Best song off the album. Incredible beat and all three verses are dope.

Volume(feat. Wooh da Kid): Sick beat, crazy energy.

Kush Is My Cologne (feat. Bun B, E-40 & Devin the Dude)
: new smoker's anthem...

I could do without "Spotlight" with Usher and "Sex In Crazy Places" because I absolutely hate Nikki Minaj. Other than that the album is dope. None of the songs are as good as stuff like My Shadow, Follow Me, or First Day Out from the mixtapes he has dropped this year but there are definitely some great tracks on here.

Anyone know what kinda first week sales this did? LOL, I'd be shocked if this did anywhere near as well as expected. The hype is just gone; apparently people aren't as mindless as it was seeming.

LOL, this guy has had the biggest internet-level media campaign of any rap artist since Lil Wayne. Those are NOT good numbers for how much effort Warner Bros put into trying to convince people Gucci Mane is a rapper worth giving a **** about. It's no wonder Warner Bros dropped him from the main label down to Asylum ... this dude probably belongs with guys like Mike Jones right about now.

Man, this is truly a great time for rap. If this means I never have to read another pretentious blogger trying to make more out of Gucci Mane's music than there actually is (which, frankly, is nothing), then today is a good day.

Gucci's buzz was high but not as high as Drake's or Wayne's. At this time, that is good numbers.

I see all the bloggers too and Gucci has internet buzz but as much as you want to believe that's the majority of Gucci fans.... it's not. The majority of Gucci's fanbase is not on the internet. Gucci is so popular here it's to the point that when I walk outside I expect to hear Gucci coming out of someone's ride. He's not as mainstream as Wayne was a couple years ago but he has a huge group of diehard fans, and its really almost like a cult following. Gucci puts on shows here all the time at the clubs too.

Gucci in Jacksonville

Looks like the internet blogger crowd, I think I see Tom Briehan in there somewhere ;)

I think FWYH could tell you the same thing about the clubs in ATL...

Gucci in Atlanta

Gucci has the clubs on lock, he has hipster internet bloggers supporting him, but he is missing the middle mainstream America support outside of stuff like Wasted and some of his guest appearances.

I understand Gucci is popular in the Southeast United States. I also understand that people there seem to enjoy pretty much any **** thrown at them.

That's not my point.

Gucci can have those fans ... I honestly don't care how popular he is. Tech9 is really popular but it doesn't affect me because none of the blogs/publications/forums I read care about him, so I don't have to be told how great he is. All I'm saying is, with these disappointing sales, maybe now I won't have to go through all this Gucci crap when I'm trying to find out about good music.

Oh tell me about it, the main reason why i don't visit CBRaps.com anymore is because of their Gucci Mane infested entries...

I can't believe that I tried to get into Gucci Mane once when visiting CBRaps...too bad that was a failure

I don't even like Gucci, but you can't lie the verse OrlandoMagic posted was kinda sick. Actually the whole track was sick.

Other tracks I liked where "Gingerbread Man"(OJ and Gucci always entertaining), and "Bingo"(I hate Soujia Boy, but he kinda killed this song. He might be getting better)

There's very little I enjoy lyrically from this album outside of "Classical" and the sheer ridiculousness of the some the rhymes. I do like quite a few of the beats; a lot of them are really catchy and fit Gucci's style really well. I don't try to take "The Gooch" seriously, so I just have fun with this album and find it to be completely solid. I don't see how anybody finds Gucci Mane to be even a good rapper, but he just makes entertaining music, just like Jeezy and Rick Ross.

Some thoughts on this album.

Straight up, there are some gems on this album. The production is on point as expected, but I hate Gucci's flow for the most part since he kind of just mumbles through his verses. What I do love about Gucci is his adlib game--ITI earlier this year talked about Gucci having the worst adlibs in rap, but I'd argue he has as good, if not better ones than Young Jeezy. IDC who you are, or how old you are, it never gets old saying "burr! burr! burr!" over a song

But for you supposed "hip hop heads" who want to hear some great "lyrics" (which, mind you, Gucci doesn't slack on the mic--if anything he slacks when it comes to his flow) there are a good amount of joints on this album where Gucci, or one of his guests spaz on the song. "Kush Is My Cologne" "Bingo" "The Movie" "Worst Enemy" "Heavy" and "All About The Money" are c|assic joints....of course, Gucci's verses are sometimes forgettable, but I think any of you who dug the latest Rick Ross disc should like this one.

7/10 for me atm. Admittedly, I've only listened to this like 5 times.

I don't know if I ever said Gucci had the worst ad-libs in the game ... I remember talking about who has the best, but I don't remember ever saying that about Gucci. The "burr" ad-lib is great, but OJ's "aye" ad-lib (like everything about OJ in comparison to Gucci) is way better.

The album is enjoyable... Gucci just sounds too lazy for me, though. Okay rapper, could be a lot better if he actually spoke and switched his flow up more.

Spotlight was the other single that got airplay.

I posted the Heavy vid in the first post. And there's also a video for "Worst Enemy. And a video for "Stupid Wild" is supposedly on the way. Wouldn't be suprised if there's more than just that on the way too.

What an intelligent breakdown of Gucci's latest album, such worthwile and well-based comments. It's really too bad that all rap doesn't cater exactly and exclusively to what you want to hear, because everyone shares the same taste. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

it is true everyone has different taste, but theres a level that you cross from having "your own ears" in music, and just having crap taste. gucci mane is one of thoe artists that belong in the latter category, maybe people like lil wayne or tpain are individual taste - they have some decent stuff, gucci mane however is straight whack. just like soulja boy

Why is Gucci just "straight whack?" You talk about how bad he is, but you haven't really done anything to prove your case except compare him to Soulja Boy.

Gucci just makes entertaining music, he has a good ear for beats, brings in some good ad-libs, and isn't even that bad lyrically. He can be lazy but makes music that's just fun to listen to. He's not trying to drop monumental verses, he doesn't have a classic (or even a near-classic) in him, but he's definitely not someone who's ruining hip hop. Gucci's doing his own thing, he has a distinct presence and no one sounds like him. He's not one of those clone rappers that sounds like everyone else, those are what's ruining rap.

You call it entertaining music, I call it crap. Good ear for beats? Even the beats, which are produced by people like Supasonics, Gucci Mane still manages to mess up with his crap rapping.

No one sounds like him? On the contrary, he sounds like your normal low-skill rapper that appeals to people with very low intelligence and bad taste in music.

When you hear the word rap you think of Big Punisher, Nas, Rakim, Big L, you don't think of Gucci Mane.

im not a big fan of gucci either, he sorta reminds me of ingorant rap, and his flow is kinda crappy. I mean he has a few songs that are tolerable, but if he never made another song, I wouldn't complain.

[QUOTE="-Methtical-"][QUOTE="hittin"][QUOTE="-Methtical-"][QUOTE="hittin"]

gucci is so bad that id rather listen to metallica or some crap like that

one of the worst rappers to this day

he is one of the reasons why rap is in the bad state it is now

add others like soulja boy, lil wayne, 50 cent, gucci mane just tops it off.

hittin

Have you even listened to Gucci Mane, or are you just reiterating what you saw on the internet? You haven't mentioned one thing that you don't like about Gucci Mane yet (but still you reference his "crap rapping" and "low-skill"), I would have to imagine that someone that is responsible for ruining hip hop would have some outstanding vices. He can rhyme (and does deliver really solid verses most of the time, even great ones like the one in the first post), his voice isn't annoying really, he can get lazy but a lot of rappers can (Raekwon, for instance). I suggest you listen to the album before hating just for the sake of hating.

Pun, Rakim, L and Nas were all great once, problem is they're either not releasing music anymore or they are and it's really bad. Gucci isn't one of the greatest to ever do it, but he really isn't that bad at all.

On the point of Gucci Mane's fans having bad taste, sometimes that's true but I know a lot of people that can appreciate Gucci, as well as MF DOOM, Run-DMC and Eric B. & Rakim. I like Gucci, but also like Madvillain, Wu-Tang, UGK, Ice Cube, etc. I don't just dismiss something because elitists say it's no good. It's also a tad ironic how the poster who can't correctly spell a word as simple as "villain" in his sig is calling Gucci followers unintelligent. It's not like you have to be intelligent to like Big L; it doesn't take much to understand constant punchlines about murder, sex and ghetto life.

I don't even like Gucci that much, just to see someone that clearly doesn't know what they're talking about make him out to be so detrimental to the state of hip hop is frustrating. Gucci isn't ruining hip hop.

ignorant rap? Why? Because his name is gucci mane? :|

Funny that the Eminem stan says this, when Eminem has used racial slurs towards black women in his early underground music. SMH @ you...ignorant rap.

ive disliked gucci since before you probably even heard of him...he reminds me of soulja boy type rapper in his rhyme schemes, lyrics etc.  Is he soulja boy? no. but i dont care for that kind of sound and he is someone i could listen to in the background but i find him overally grating and his songs incredibly simplistic.  "I got my desert eagle on me/they gonna think im an eagles fan" WTF. And lol at me supposed to be hating on Eminem for something he did before I was in kindergarten.

lol @ you calling Gucci Mane ignorant for simplistic rhyming. Why don't you read the first post in this thread to get a view of what Gucci Mane's about, because that's anything but simplistic.

BTW, i heard of gucci mane the first day his "Icy" song was a new joint on BET...which is also why I was reluctant to ever listen to him before Orlandgreezy put me on. Calling gucci ignant, when Eminem is ignant in every sense of the world...SMH

also lol @ me defending gucci like he's my favorite rapper.

Lol, word. My argument above makes me look like a huge Gucci stan, which is far from the truth.

Gucci is not nearly as good as Eminem but Gucci isn't trying to be an Eminem. I wouldn't call either of them ignorant rappers but the appeal of Gucci is totally different to Eminem. You're not gonna hear Amityville at a party, Gucci on the other hand?

Gucci does have raggedy flow at times but he did some nice ish on this album.

i didnt say everything he does is ignant, i just prefer music that i dont find grating, obviously you like him, i dont. That is that. Obviously I don't care for overly simplistic rhyming, my point was not changing Gucci he is what he is, i dont care for it that much.
