[QUOTE="mischa_barton"]The Blueprint is just as good, if not better.elpooz
yeah ^..
And vol 1 is up there too.
I would have to disagree with that. RD has an extremely solid start, perhaps too strong, the rest of the album can't keep up. The Blueprint is consistently great the entire way through.[QUOTE="mischa_barton"]The Blueprint is just as good, if not better.elpooz

lol at you guys. Those albums aren't even CLOSE.[QUOTE="elpooz"][QUOTE="mischa_barton"]The Blueprint is just as good, if not better.HaSheeSh_basic

The album is one of the most consistent albums in hip-hop, unlike Blueprint, i'll name you the weak tracks inbetween with the weak lyrics too if you want me to.Yeah...I always thought RD and Blueprint were Jay's best albums, with The Black Album coming in at 3rd...iHeartCali
Speaking of his 2nd best albums, its debatable, many would say Blueprint, and quite a few (like me) would say it's The Black Album. at mentioning Vol. 1, American Gangster was better than that crap.
Vol 1 is DOPE. you're buggin hash... AG > Vol 1? noooo way.
and BA does deserve a mention.Â
lol blueprint is 3rd? okay
elpooz
list of crap songs in Vol 1:
I know what girls like, imaginary player, streets is watching, friend or foe 98, who you wit pt 2, real *****s...etc lol what a piece of **** album...i can't believe you are seriously comparing this to RD.
Listen bro, Vol. 1 isn't dope, isn't good, isn't alright, isn't mediocre, isn't bad, it is more like a bucket fulla crap
Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, and The Black Album are all pretty much perfect explanations of why I love rap music.
Yeah I tend to not mention Reasonable Doubt with any of Jay-Z's other albums in the same sentence.... excluding just now.tbone29best response in this thread so far. at mentioning how Vol. 1 is nearly as good.
I'd say Illmatic coz it's my all time fav
Reasonable Doubt is a solid album overall, don't get me wrong it has the classic tracks "dead presidents" "feelin it" and "22 twos" but overall, this album has too many skippables and the album just doesn't flow that well for me. I personally enjoy in my lifetime much more.HerbertdaPervYou mean to tell me you skipped over Can't Knock The Hustle, Brooklyn's Finest, Politics as Usual, Can I Live, Coming of Age, Cashmere Thoughts, and Bring it On :?

What tracks do you consider skippable? The only track I skip on the whole album is "Ain't No *****"
Overrated album imo. Great, but not an amazing album of epic proportions.
I've also always wanted to mention, Jay Z critisized Nas for his albums after Illmatic being bad, but imo Jay Z's albums between Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint were just as bad. Thats kinda a different discussion though, but yeah. Good, not GOAT or anything.

Good point. The "one hot album every 10 year average" line was hot, but come on, It Was Written and I Am... are peppered with gems and are overall great albums, far better than anything Jay-Z did until The Blueprint, as mentioned.

I don't know about peppered jems, but I'd rather listen to It Was Written, I Am or even Nastradamus over In My Lifetime Vol. 1,2 and 3 respectively, which, by the way get expidentially more commercial, and to a very noticable extent.[QUOTE="Saruman1719"][QUOTE="Demonic_Jin"]Overrated album imo. To me, that is two albums peppered with gems.
