Was waiting for this thread so I could finally get a list of some of the good albums. I didn't vote this year cus I've only really listened to the Big K.R.I.T., Cunninlynguists, and Elzhi albums. Gonna listen to XXX maybe tonight and the Kendrick Lamar too.

You most likely won't like XXX after the first listen, let it sink in lol. If you just can't get into it I recommend checking out the Hybrid which was released in 2010, it's a bit more traditional.

I just can't get into Danny Brown's voice. I have no problems with the rest of the list except for J Cole's album which I wasn't impressed with

Start with Kendrick Lamar, you won't be disapponted. I only listened to it once a few months back in a very casual manner. Finally got back to it yesterday, and boy was I wrong, easily top 5 for me this year, I'd update my list if I could.

Danny's solo joint was an odd one. The first half he uses that obnoxious voice of his, and the songs and lyrics hardly ever impressed me. He switches it up in the 2nd half of the album with a more 'normal' voice, much better, but I sorta gave up at that point, despite trying to bump the album more than once. Maybe I'd give it another chance in the future.

the funny thing is, I can't stand Kendrick Lamars voice for some reason but I know he's talented. Section 80 does have some   good songs though like hiiipower, the spiteful chant and rigamortus but I just can't listen to him for a long period of time

also if you're just getting into danny brown like Orlando said you should start with the hybrid cause that's a lot more accessible

Nowhere 2 Go

Shootin' Moves

now I don't think Danny Brown is "the greatest rapper ever" he's very unorthodox but to me he's entertaining and I don't mind the way he switches up his flow from different tracks,  he's just keeping it fresh.  there's so many  rappers out there now with the same boring flow and lyrics that you get tired of it whereas Danny Brown seems to always keep you on your toes with each verse he's about to spit

didn't vote, I only listened to 6 of the top ten here and I'm still getting through a lot of 2011 music--didn't have strong enough opinions to put together a good list cause I was so late on a lot of this.

i really enjoyed the danny brown album, but i just can't listen to it for a long period of time.  i actually REALLY like his weird voice/flow thing he does too...but it's just kind of too intense or something for long listening sessions.  i feel like i need to go do some hard drugs or something after listening to the whole album haha
