Anyways im heading up to new york city for the first time tomorrow
can't wait to see rock the bells on saturday
anyone else going?
maybe we could meet up
70000 tickets sold out in 20 minutes
I'm going to the Dallas show on August 7th. The line-up isn't great but it's decent. Wu-Tang, Nas, Talib Kweli, UGK, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, David Banner and Pharoh Monche.
What am I thinking? That's a great line-up. It's just not as good as others.

i just got back from sundays show in ny, sat in the rain for like 2 hours but it was worth it, i can barely walk my feet are killing me
A few things I noticed from the Boston show:
1) Reunited Wu-Tang isn't going to last long. Meth is stealing the light from everyone, and judging by the Boston show I went to, all the other members are kind of pissed. Meth would always talk, cut his other members off, and basically stay in the front the whole time.
2) GOOD LORD the girls there were gorgeous. Not just like, Hey, she's kind of hot, but like, WOW! draw-jopping good-looking. A lot of them were signing along to Nas and stuff too. Very surprising.
3) Nas puts on an insane live show. Period.
4) Immortal Technique is even preachier in concert.
5) Jedi Mind Tricks=zzzzzzzzz
6) Supernatural is the best host ever. Freestyling about what people in the crowd hand in and random crowd members rules.

He always is the wild one trying to run the front of the stage, but in Atlanta I noticed he was particularly hyped up. The rest of the Wu just hung back while Mef went nuts running through the crowd like 3 or 4 times... And he did talk a lot more than usual... but I don't know if the Wu members are annoyed or just consider that Mef bein Mef.
Cool, well, I'm definitely brining my camera then. Hell, I don't mind being called one but I'm also bringing my backpack. If I can take a bottle in, I'd rather not pay out the ass for water.
I'm getting really excited for this. The show I'm going to is Tuesday and I'm heading out early tuesday morning to get the arena by 1. I'm a little nervous going alone but everytime I've gone to a really good concert, I've made friends with the people around so i can only hope for that here too. I'd imagine most people will be blazing and friendly.
I'm fairly sure I know why the Houston show was cancelled; poor sales. I just got back from the Dallas show and it was so empty. I felt bad for JEdi Mind Tricks. There were maybe 60 people there by the time they started and very few of the people were participating.Hell, they wouldn't even stand up. I was excited and pumped for the show to get started so I was way into it.
Following Jedi Mind Tricks was Immortal Technique. Apparently, he's got a huge following. SO many people were sporting his shirts and his performance got the people out of their seats. Before and afterwards, he was outside talking to people, taking pictures, and signingautographs. He seems like he's still an artist for himself and teh fans.
Pharoah Monch came on after Technique. Another act which got very little crowd support. It could have been because it was still pretty early(maybe 4:30) but still, who was there didn't get into it. I had a conversation with a guy and he was talking about how the sound is terrible in these festival environments. I couldn't help but agree after Pharoah Monch. His vocals were drowned out by the band. I couldn't hear a majority of what was being said.
Talib Kweli was the first crowd pleaser. Well, besides Supanatural. I forgot to mention how much I really liked him. He would go on some crazy freestyles that just really impressed me. Not very often do I actually laugh at lyrics but he had me laughing more than once. Back to Kweli. He had a really good performance and he shared the last song with Erykah Badu.
Way earlier than I expected him, Nas came on following Talib Kweli. I was really glad to see Nas. From what I understand, he doesn't come to the SOuth very often. Then right after Nas was Wu-Tang. THe cool thing about Wu-Tang was that they told all the people sitting in teh far sides of the arena to crowd the stage and the show went from assigned seating to general admission within seconds. General admission really is necessary to have a lively crowd. It felt so much better tobe rubbing elbows with complete strangers rather than standing alone because the people sitting on either side of me weren't athe show. I was a little disappointed that Method Man didn't make it. But, I really don't understand why UGK didn't show up. Maybe it's because their hometown show got cancelled or their new album came out today. Hopefully someone can shed some light.
