Everytime I flip on the hip hop radio station where i live, i never hear hip hop. I dont consider Crime Mob, Unk, or Lil Scrappy hip hop. They should rename it to like Dirty South Pop or somethin. Their giving hip hop a bad name...

yeah it did start off as party music, but it didn't start off watered down.

That is true. It was apparently about staying out of trouble and having a good time but there wasn't any of the extreme, empty violence/mysogynism etc. etc. there is now. That's the difference imo.
