Who Is Your Best Rapper Alive?

Personally I have to start by saying I dislike the whole "Best Rapper Alive" talk since most of the founders of hip hop arn't that old. DJ Kool Herc is only 54 years old and many active rappers are in there early 40's and many still make good music.

My all time favorite rapper without a doubt is Ice Cube. However this how I break it down.

West: The Game [Current] 2Pac [All Time]
(Personally I feel Ice Cube is the best in the west but I'll say Game to focus more on 'current' people.)

East: Jadakiss [Current] The Notorious B.I.G. [All Time]
(I'm not HUGH on Jay-Z but, I can see an arugement for him.)

South: Lil Wayne [Current] Scarface [All Time]

Midwest: Royce da 5'9" [Current] ??? [All Time]
(Too hard of a call on all time best from the midwest. If you count producers I say without question J Dilla. I guess one could say Bone Thugs for all time, but I don't know about that. And I know people want to hear Eminem but I really dislike his music.)

I add international hip hop but it would take me forever to decide.

IN SHORT MY TOP 3 BEST RAPPERS ALIVE ARE...

1 - The Game

Why Game? - Not that I'm that big on Game as much as I'm never disappointed with his music. Wayne is a close second but the hit and miss mixtapes that come out all the time and The Carter III got me having mixed feelings about him.

2 - Lil Wayne
3 - Royce da 5'9"
4-10 (in no order)
Jadakiss, Ice Cube, Nas, Jay-Z, T.I., Young Jeezy, Lupe Fiasco

East - Method Man

West - WC or Daz Dillinger

The only thing I can really decide on is the South, it'd go something like

South:

Current: Andre 3000 or Bun B

All Time: Scarface

As for East, West, Midwest, I don't really see those divisions anymore. I saw them in the past but in the modern Hip Hop scene it's something I ignore so I'd have to think about those ones.

I know a lot of people who've never even heard of Scarface and if they have heard of Scarface, they haven't bumped his albums much if at all or they only bumped the Geto Boys albums...

Scarface is, in my opinion, the most underrated Top 5 or 10 (Depending on your taste) MC of all time.

Either way, living in Canada on the Westcoast, most people think Southern Hip Hop is Young Money so...

Armor of God will flop, and WFC was just okay. Jay E has never dropped a non-dope song since he came out... And everyone else on that list 1) has a better track record than Vakill and 2) is dropping good stuff today (with maybe the exception of Wayne). Nothing Vakill has done compares to Illmatic, Stillmatic, Aquemini, ATLiens, etc... and he is NOT dropping stuff as good as what Nas and Andre are right now. As far as Sean P goes, Monkey Barz and JPSS were both dope. I'd take that over a dope album and one that will probably suck :|. Wayne... People enter the game and die in half that time in Hip Hop and we're talking what's going on today. I don't think Nas is capable of doing anything on his old level anymore, Wayne is still capable, Andre is very capable, Sean P could be, Jay Electronica too.

Vakill is also capable, WFC was more then okay to Pooz, it was quite good. I don't think he's the GOAT though like Hash says though but he's still good.

lol i wasn't mad or anything.... i just REALLY don't think Vakill is all that great. i do listen for lyrics... stop talking BS lol. i just value delivery and production more... nas has been my favorite rapper (like... of all time) for the longest time... and all he really has left now is his lyrics. his flow is still dope but it has been more or less the same for like 9 years now.... and his production... well... yeah.

Ghost is a cool dude and I agree with alot of his posts, but man ... The Game is terrible.

Anyways, here's my list ...

East Coast:

All-Time - Jay-Z (honorable mention Chuck D & Ced G)
Current - I dunno, probably Wale. God the East Coast is pathetic these days

South:

All-Time - Off top I'm gonna say Bun B, but Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Al-D ... so much competition
Current - this is difficult, because there's so much talent, but alot of them aren't releasing stuff. I'm going to go with Lil Keke ... after a decade of incredible music, he's practically re-invented himself and is really a living legend. Again, though, tons of competition, from Webbie to J-Dawg to Tum Tum ...

West Coast:

All-Time - E-40 (honorable metion Too $hort)
Current - this is another difficult one, partly again because people aren't dropping albums, and a lot of the promising talent still needs to prove itself before I can co-sign (Stalin is almost there). I'll go with Turf Talk or Jacka for now, as they have enough great albums under their belt.
