they are the elitists of hip-hop. Good music can't be popular. Underground music can't be anything but great.

What would be some good mainstream out now? I've been a little backpackerish this year

EDIT: I don't know what I'm talking about, I listen to a lot of mainstream.

But one thing that seems really weird is that I hate weak snares, claps, snaps, weak kicks. The sample could be crazy but if the drums aren't hard or breakbeat type it bothers me. ie. "I'm Back" - AZ

Exception is J Dilla or Black Milk. They have sick drums

An elitist that listens to nothing but underground & shuns any mainstream hip hop no matter the quality.

Basically one of the most annoying type of people you'll meet, along with Dallas Cowboys fans.

Hey, I'm a bit of a backpacker! Well, I listen to mainstream too, so I'm not an elitist. I just prefer to check out the underground, unheard, independant,or not so popularstuff more so than what's out by major labels. But don't get me wrong, I'm hip to the mainstream too, that was my bread and butter when it came to Hip Hop growing up.

As long as it's good quality and I can bob my head to it, then I'm content with it.

It's basically associated with being so reclusive inside underground hip-hop that you're ignorant of what else is out there. I can't stand a lot of underground hip-hop. Whenever there's opening acts for rap shows and it's the local artists, they're mainly white guys who rap about boring topics. That's what I associate with backpackers.
