Your 1st Rap Album/Song...

Not the one you bought, but what was the first rap album/song that you ever heard? Was it a good or bad impression?

I just remember my Dad coming home from work one day and wanted to show my Grandpa this new CD he bought on his sound system in the living room. I don't think he liked it, but I did.

It was Dr. Dre's The Chronic. I was only 6 or 7 and was forced to leave the room for obvious reasons, but the few songs I heard, I remember being amazed by the sound.

Being a UGK fan, I wish my first rap experience was Super Tight or something else by them, but The Chronic was definitely a good introduction to the genre.

I started out with Will Smith's Big Willie Style...

My earliest rap memories are watching Tribe's Scenario music video and Vanilla Ice's Ninja Rap from the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie...Orlando_Magic

I don't remember a first album(Though I suspect it was either Doggystyle by Snoop or Country Grammar by Nelly, not sure which, or if it's even those two at all, but I remember hearing those pretty young, like when i was 10 11 or 12 when I first seriously started liking the genre.

I remember when I was a kid, when MTV still played music, I would watch Yo!Mtv Raps and all the countdowns and stuff.... This was when I was pretty young, probly not even 6 years old yet but I remember I loved the sound of rap and just music in general.

First song: Either Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z or Mo Money Mo Problems by Biggie Smalls, One of those two I think, can't remember exactly

First album: Vol 2 Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z

Space Jam...Quad City DJ's...

Hypnotize and Changes also strike a cord as being the first two songs I heard and liked in Hip Hop

my first rap song was coolio's gangsta's paradise 1, 2, 3, 4 or fantastic voyage....can't recall which one, but i know i loved all 3, and those were the first joints i remember bumping..i remember walking down the halls at school, or playing at recess and reciting the choruses to those songs....though outside of coolio i hated rap 'till about '99 or so.

Album was either Life and Times of S. Carter or Reasonable Dobut. Can't remember which exactly. :P
