What do you guys think of this album? This was one of the albums I missed listening to in 2006. The album is good but I like True and Livin a lot more... True and Livin was one of my favorites of 2005, top 10 material for 2005. Zion is dope on Heroes in the City of Dope, but I feel Grouch brings it down a little. I'm a much bigger Zion fan in general though... dude is just flat out sick.

This album is pretty horrible imo ... and this is coming from a fan of both Living Legends and Zion I.  There really wasn't any reason for Grouch to be on here, and all in all it just feels like a mixtape more than anything.

btw, if True & Livin' is the only Zion I you've heard, you really need to check out the rest of their catalogue ... their first two albums are classic backpacker records imo.

I do think the group should probably split, though ... they just don't work as well together these days.  Amp Live seems to be more interested in going mainstream with his sound, and it just doesn't mesh well with Zion's style.

Wow, you need to check out True and Livin' right now. It's sooo much better than Heroes, which I didn't like much at all. True and Livin' and Mind Over Matter are easily their best two albums imho. Plus, T&L has great cameo performances by Del, Gift of Gab, Aesop Rock, among others. One of my top 5 of 2005, easily.
