00's the worst decade?

I personally dont think so... but it was pretty bad

Yea it was kind of bad. As a race we didn't have much to be proud of. Am i the only one who has the feeling that the next decade will be worse?

True, but i think the point is that with the good times we have it seems like we just made the world worse. WWII was bad but progressed mankind further then any other Decade in history.

If you were non-white, non-christian, non-heterosexual, then you might not HAVE to kill yourself. Someone else might have done that for you.

Anyway, any bad thing we have going on now pales in comparison to what happened before. Yeah, we're afraid of being attacked by terrorists. Not long ao, people were justifiably terrified of worldwide global annihilation through thermonuclear war. Blacks have it hard now, but they used to have it REALLY bad. We think that the economy is bad NOW, but we haven't gone through anything on the level of the Great Depression. We cry about global warming making the polar bears sad, but try going through a decade of hell in the Dust Bowl.

This decade seems bad largely because life has gotten SO good for us that we have the LUXURY of expecting life to be PERFECT.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this is a GOOD decade. Yeah, in many ways, this decade kind of sucks. I'm just saying that in order to declare this the WORST decade is to sort of lose pretty much all sense of historical perspective. We're worried about the Swine Flu now, but the Spanish Flu of 1918 was some SERIOUS ****. And before that, there was stuff like Smallpox and The Freaking Black Death.

All right, let me put it this way. Right now, it's Friday November 27. Tomorrow is November 28. On a scale of one to ten (one being the lowest, ten being the highest), how scared are you that you won't live to see Sunday?
