Can you name one song from the 80's or 90's that was legit hit and you thought it was good then, but now you've realised it wasn't that good after all? Oh, and name one that has held up if you can think of one too.

I still kinda like Breakfast at Tiffany's occasionally from Deep Blue. Two Princes by The Spin Doctors on the other hand grinds my gears. I feel like those two songs were constantly in a ten song mix on my local radio stations during the 90s.

How about that 80s song from Dramarama: Anything Anything. That song still rocks today!

One I've had in my head very recently that I even listened to today is Silent Lucidity by Queensryche.

One that I really liked years ago that I dislike now is a lot harder to think of, since I usually listen to music I like.

Edit:  This list is interesting and reminded me of a lot of songs I at least listened to at some point: http://rateyourmusic.com/list/fierystage/vh1s_100_greatest_one_hit_wonders/

I don't think it's really neccesary to specify which did and didn't age well.

I disagree completely, on Hall and Oates. Those guys were awesome then, and still are.

Also, "Africa" by Toto is timeless.

The song "Africa" will always have a special place in my heart.  I always enjoyed blowin crap up in a helicopter in GTA when that was playing..

Disagree on this one. It's just such a nostalgic song.

aged well:

September Gurls - Big Star (1974, this is generally considered one of the Top 5 pop songs of all time, ahead of its time)

Destination Unknown - Missing Persons (1982, lead singer Dale Bozzio was way ahead of Lady Gaga)

Cannonball - The Breeders (1993)

Ray of Light - Madonna (1998, still sounds fresh today)

I agree with the person who said Bohemian Rhapsody
