LOL, I already thought this thing was overpriced without knowing how much it sucks.

Also, I think the Mac OS takes away functionality to provide usability, which irritates me as a Linux user.

It's innovation is too rich for my blood - maybe that's why I hate it too,I gotta hand it to them for giving it a GPS system though.

The Macbook Air is a halo product (no relation to the game), and is designed to increase sales of other Apple products rather than be a viable product in its own right. Because of the radical design everyone has been checking it out, and because of the high price only the famous/rich/"trendy" are going to buy it. Because of this the Air has generated a ton of hits on Apples website. So people are looking at the Air and thinking "wow this is pretty cool, I wonder how much it costs..." and then they're hit with sticker shock, especially if they understand how weak the Air's specs are considering the price. But then they look at the display for the regular Macbook and see that it's still pretty damn small, and that it only costs about $1100 dollars. Suddenly that Macbook looks like a damn steal compared to the Air, and therefore Macbook sales should increase.

i want to know what type of heating problems this thing will have. Macbooks in general are known for getting pretty hot. Macbook pros can burn your lap. With the air, it's more compact meaning heating will be an even bigger problem and we all know that heat is the number one enemy to computers. so has anyone heard anything about overheating issues?MichaeltheCM

Are there laptops without heating issues? I've never noticed any. - My family has this thing that you set the laptop on, and it kind of acts like an icepack would if you put it to your forehead, it makes it cold enough to where you can still work, but, you still have a fever.

I doubt it would work well with one of those alienware laptops, those things get hotter than ovens - you may as well put the words "preheat" right next to "Power/Turn On".

It doesn't replace the MacBook though, so all criticisms are completely irrelevant. :|SolidSnake35

Sure does, takes a free BSD operating system and locks it down to proprietary, which is backwards in the Linux/Unix world and goes against the GNU and FSF beliefs

i came to the same conclusion my self didnt have to read this. but good find. people will buy it because of all the crap apple has made againt the PC, well my pc runs linux so meh to OSX.linkinworm
