10 Year Old Drags Alligator Home From Canal

Florida wildlife officials say a 10-year-old boy dragged a nearly 6 foot alligator home from a nearby canal.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers were called to the Rockledge home of Michael Dasher on Wednesday after the boy's grandfather saw the alligator in the front yard.

Michael told the officers he had been fishing with friends when something big caught the hook and snapped the line. The boy said the alligator ran at him, so he started hitting it with sticks and jumped on its back.Miami Herald

I absolutely guarantee you that the alligator didn't attack him. I guarantee that the gator was just minding its own business and the kid kicked his ass just because he thought it'd be cool.

The alligator was only 6 feet long. Half of that is tail, which means a body length of 3 feet. That's about on par with beating up a small dog. Not only is it not an impressive achievement, but there's no way an alligator of such a small size would try to attack a human being.

Well, I admit that hearing the kid talk, he doesn't sound like a douche. Though that is some douchey looking hair, but that's beside the point. The point is that I was perhaps a little hasty calling him a douche.

However, I'd like to point out that in the video, you can actually see the gator on the table. And it appears to be only slightly bigger than your standard large house cat. When the woman asked why he wasn't scared, I was sort of hoping that the kid would say something like, "Why would I be scared? Didn't you see how small that thing is?"

Awesome. I would sure like to meet him.

After watching the video I can say that the kids provoked the gator, and they hit it with sticks unecessarily. A small gator like that wouldn't have gone after a group of kids that age. I live in florida myself, and such behavior is not common at all for an alligator that size. Also a 6 foot gator would have snapped the line a long time before they could have reeled it in, hell a turtle would have snapped the line.

This kid is a ****ing badass.

That kid is a pioneer and a leader. If these were tribal times, he would be next in line a tribe leader. He would be the warrior of the village. You cowards are only saying its stupid because its something you would never do. But to him, it was nothing, it wasn't even a thought, no hesitation.
