Ninjas are stealthy and quick. Then when up close they have martial arts to back them up. Pirates have their "Yar!" and a green parrot. Go figure.

You propably don't even imagine, how skilled were ninjas. They were comparable to recent elite army special forces/counter terrorists or highly qualified commandos, meanwhile pirates were common criminals/bandits...

100 ninjas could pwn 1000 pirates with no problem in open fight. In stealth ambush assault 10 of ninjas could cut all 1000 pirates in couple of nights...
