White people shouldn't get angry when others complain about racism and white people privileges? It is what it is no one can stop a white person from getting angry. Races are like tribes and people fight for their tribe no matter what.
Those cry babies should all play Second Life if they think they're oppressed.
I'm Hispanic and I don't even feel oppressed. I educate myself and work hard to get the things I want. I never ask for free handouts. Calling out white privilege is a loophole to being a racist. I get a grant just for being Hispanic. Talk about Hispanic privilege.
The authors seem like the sort of people Jello Biafra was describing in the first verse of "Holiday In Cambodia."
I'll never get why people whine when the word ghetto is used in a bad way.
The ghetto is a bad thing, it's poor with high crime and violence. That's why people who aren't gangster wannabes get out if they can.
"that's so ghetto" means something is poor, dirty or janky. Like the ghetto.
sounds like a bunch of tumblr garbage
Considering how douchey the author sounds, I agree.
The SAT requirement for Asian to get accepted by school is so much higher than some other races. So, the discrimination is real. The school should accept students based on academic scores rather than race.
That kinda scares me. Not gonna lie, I prefer getting an arab or Asian Doctor.
Dr. Muhammad? Yes plz.

This is such an ignorant statement I don't know where to begin. Acknowledging INSTITUTIONAL racism is being racist? Really?
This is exactly the reason we have seen race hoax after race hoax being committed or the last couple of years. And blm protesting for peices of shit like mike brown while harvard educated Corey gabay, philanthropist and artist john wayne whitmore get smoked and there is nothing but silence on how much their lives mattered is the icing on the cake.
Criminals are victims while the best and brightest among us get rubbed out and nobody dares to say a word about it.
How many blm prominent cities have to set per capita homicide records before people figure out what this current hoax is doing to the black community?
If you want to see what lying about things gets you all you have to do is look at the homicides for 2015 in baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago, st Louis and the half dozen other cities where blm holds power. Thanks for reversing a 20 year trend blm, we could not have done it without you.
And white women are safe from the cops? Well no shit.
Statistically your homicide footprint is almost zero. In 2015 zero white women shot and killed any cops and only one white dude shot and killed any and that was one was at the very end of the year with the crazy body part anti abortion guy.
Now do we have any other examples of people being whipped into a frenzy over bullshit reporting and being angry enough about it to kill?
There are consequences to lies.

Exactly i am also Latin and have worked hard, harder then most around me just to get to normal living standard by most. I have never had a handout that came without hard work, or commitment to something. Its the only way. Lots of people in my culture want you to stay at a low level, but i refuse. The world is what you make of it.
It's tough to talk about race, especially as a white person, when everyone jumps down your throat when you bring it up. Thus many white people are like "oh no, I'm color blind, yo', I don't see your race! I'm progressive". It's not because they want to seem like they're cool with diversity, it's because they don't want to talk about it.
I agree with many of the other points. As far as general existence goes, I, as a white male American, have essentially won the lottery. White women are a close second. Followed by, I don't know...Asians? Maybe Hispanics, they've come pretty far in this country if they're fully assimilated (i.e. born here) and have zero accent.
I'm still not sure what "microaggressions" are. I think a lot of perceived racism is just curiosity. The example given of "what are you?" is a good example; I think, in context, if you asked a white person that, they'd be like "Oh, I'm from an old Germanic tribe on my dad's side, and Dutch on my Mom's side". When you ask a black person, they tend to get snarky and be like "uhhhhh I'm human!"; I don't want to make you feel weird, but what if I am legitimately curious about your roots? I understand it's a defense mechanism, but we can't be open and acknowledge race if the second we talk about it frankly people get angry.
Some other the other points are a bit silly as well. "Ghetto" is a negative term. It's not exclusive to black people. Ghetto, historically, have been poor, run-down areas where people have to scrape things together to get by. I'd argue Jews have more of a right to be offended by the word "ghetto", but they're not. A lot of these trigger-words, well, they need to not be trigger words. People of color have to meet white people half way, you know? So when I say "ghetto", I don't mean "poor, black, and crappy", I just mean "crappy". Like what a ghetto is.
A nice article, and overall I agree with it, but as with most things we gotta meet half way. So when I start talking frankly about race, hopefully people of color don't think I am racist.
I agree with every point in the article, but yeah it does seem like the author is, above all, focusing on racism against black people specifically in the USA.
As for the "I'm colourblind" thing, yeesh... Saying you're colourblind and, therefore fine with someone's race is the exact same thing as saying "I don't want to recognize you as a person of a different race, because if I did then I'd be uncomfortable with you".
P.S. The author can come across as however condescending you want (which I do agree with, having read through it), but that doesn't take away from the validity of the points.

WTH does you having a great work ethic and achieving a good living standard have to do with institutional racism? What is the correlation?
@sayyy-gaa: They are saying that America is so awesome that with good work ethic you can easily beat the statistics. People fear what they dont understand, stop fearing white people, understand them.

Either that, or it means, "I don't give a flying **** about your race, and if you're expecting me to care then you can get bent."
@MrGeezer: But white people do care, why you think America is one of best places for minorities to live? Cause America cares for them and their families.
@thegerg: sorry, I'm missing your point here.
Is she inherently the good guy because she has a vagina? Is she the bad guy for confronting the cops with a gun that probbaly did not even work? (A musket? Seriously? Lots of redcoat problems in her neighborhood?)
I mean they really played up the whole "loving mother" thing.
Is there anyone more dangerous than a loving mother? Loving mother defending her turf sounds like one of the most dangerous things in the world to me. Is the point that some cops are incompetent? No kidding. You know what sounds like a perfect recipie for disaster? Loving mother + gun + cops + domestic disturbance call.
My point here was that people that statistics show are inherently less dangerous are going to be treated differently in most cases so women talking about their "privilege" is pretty dishonest when the stats show for the most part they deserve their privilege.
@MrGeezer: But white people do care, why you think America is one of best places for minorities to live? Cause America cares for them and their families.
Oh, get lost with that shit. Some people care and some people don't. It's still stupid to act like anyone who doesn't make a big deal about other people's race is just avoiding the issue because they'd just be SO uncomfortable to mentally acknowledge that they're dealing with a white/black/whatever guy.
i consider the term "white privilege" to be a microaggression and kindly ask that you think a little bit before using it

Martin Luther King said he dreamed of the day when a person would be judged by the content of their character not the col;or of their skin.

And I never said anybody should be judged by the colour of their skin. I'm saying their race should be recognized and have no effect on the judgement of that person's character.
@thegerg: my bad. I have not looked anything up on this in a couple of months and flat out missed the one from may.
Ok. So we have a total of four. Now lets double that in case we missed any others so we will say 8 out of the 30 something cops that were shot and killed were by white criminals. Does that really change my point here that people get treated according to the danger they either present or appear to present? We still have a tiny minority of criminals killing more cops than a vastly larger population of other criminals. What's really changed? One type of criminal still presents or appears to present more danger than a different type that belongs to a giant majority.
Do we think that right or wrong that information is not going to be used when dealing with people in real world situations?
@sayyy-gaa: They are saying that America is so awesome that with good work ethic you can easily beat the statistics. People fear what they dont understand, stop fearing white people, understand them.
Dude nobody is disagreeing with the obvious. I completely agree with what LexLas said but it is irrelevant. He is paraphrasing the American dream. That's all well and good. But it doesn't make the article invalid and skews away from the point.
@Jaysonguy: Care to elaborate?
Not looking for an argument. Just curious.
I know you're not, it's ok, I don't take this as an offense lol
White Privilege is a gimmick, it's something that people think we need to spread around to make it seem like white people get everything and other the other colors of people don't.
The newest thing is white guilt, everyone white is supposed to feel immense guilt over things because they're white.
I've said it before and I've said it again, the only thing white gets you is the ability to drive a better than average car and probably not get pulled over and if you fix your pockets in a store you're not followed for shoplifting.
That's where it ends.
I've never once gone into a job interview, someone pulled out a Benjamin Moore color wheel, held it to my arm and said "You check out, how much would you like to start?"
I do know that every other race is free to insult and blame everything on me because I'm white.
White people have become the punching bag for every other race and for some reason it's acceptable. If a white person tries to stop it they're called racist.
The the other races say white people shouldn't feel the need to stop it because they have white privilege.
@Jaysonguy: Ah yes, white guilt. A user who used to be here a lot, Coolbeans90, verbally abused the crap out of me for acknowledging that white guilt exists, yet there are plenty of them out there. I'm sure most white Tumblr feminists and SJWs wish they weren't white. Everyone wants to be a victim these days. It's pathetic.

That's where it ends. Doesn't end there. Ever been pulled over by your local police gang unit for matching the description of a criminal(i.e. a black man)? Ever get handcuffed because you looked suspicious? Ever been told to leave a mall because you made other patrons uncomfortable? Have you ever had to think about your race in every conversation you have with someone to whom you don't have a personal bond?

White privilege is NOT a gimmick. It exists.
It's a gimmick around to allow other races to abuse white people and get excused for it.
Period
@sayyy-gaa: White people have more against them then any race PERIOD! Think of all the double standard bullshit they have to abide by. We have no race card to play. White privilege is an illusion minorities have come up with with to justify constantly failing.
@Jaysonguy: There is no excuse for abusing any group of people including whites. White people shouldn't be insulted to make other races feel better. I agree with you there. But that doesn't mean that white privilege doesn't exist. Take a step back from what you are saying and examine it.
1. White people should not be ridiculed by other races because of white privilege.
2. White privilege exists.
Both statements are true.
@sayyy-gaa: White people have more against them then any race PERIOD! Think of all the double standard bullshit they have to abide by. We have no race card to play. White privilege is an illusion minorities have come up with with to justify constantly failing.
1. Are you American?
2. Do you live in America?
3. Are you aware of America's history, wealth distribution, employment statistics, etc?
I can't believe what I 'm reading in this forum. Yes there is a double standard in regards to race relation and white people. But to say they have more against them than any other race? Do I even have to reply to that?
