11:11, Do you believe in it?

Alright so heres the story, I was in FB just looking at the some random newsfeed, and I saw my friend status says "How does 11:11 work" And so theres a bunch of comment on how to do this. Like this one dude says "you have to close your eyes exactly 11:11 and wish till its 11:12, if you opend your eyes too early, the wish will not come true". Reading this sentence, I was like wtf? So I said, 11:11 is not true at all, and if you want something to happen, don't wish and simply work for it, or do whatever to get it. Now they all jumped at me saying I shouldn't have said that, because its killing their hopes and some BS like that..

So OT, do you believe in 11:11?

And I know it sounded like a rant, but I rarely create topics. :P

Not sure, but personally, I'm sick of accidentally looking at 9:11 frequently. It's like after 9/11 incident, suddenly we catch 9:11 on the clock now or something.

11:11 is a number some people think 'haunts' them because when they look at a clock it is often at 11:11. The truth behind this is obviously 11:11 being a prominent number, it's a pattern and it stands out more then say 13:15. So people blank out looking at the clock at other time then 11:11 and just tell the time, but when 11:11 pops up they are like "ooohhh! Spooky! That number again!"

So things have built up around this number.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I can't stand that number now. Why, just the other day, my neighbor's house was on fire, and she was all "help! help! somebody call the fire department!", and like, I just couldn't bring myself to dialing 911. It takes time to heal, y'know?

Some people wish at 12:34 that I've talked to. I've always heard it was 11:11 though. However, I'd never heard of keeping your eyes closed until 11:12. I always thought it was just make a silent wish at 11:11. Either way, if people want to do it, what's the big deal, unless they are depending on it to come true with certainty. Now, that's just stupid. To me this is just similar to wishing on your birthday cake growing up. Maybe it comes true, maybe it doesn't. It's not a big deal to me to down it if someone does it.
