Ok, so my dad is looking for my mom an 07 car and all. I am probably going to be getting her old one. My question is this...Is 14 to young to drive. I know I will have to get the Permit and drive with a licensed adult over 21 with x amount of driving experience. I went to the nearest courthouse and got the drivers permit study guide and all that.The good thing about the car is it's already payed off. I will have to get a workers permit to buy gas. Luckily there covering insurance until I am16. When i'm 16 I will have to get a job to pay insurance and gas my dad said he would cover everything else. Also where should I work at 14? Being a student in all on weekdays I get up at 7:00AM and don't get home form school until 3:30PM So I wont have much time after HW and all. Maybe a part time weekend job or something. I make pretty good grades averaging a B but I dont think grades haveanything to do withworking aparttime job at a restaurant being a Dish Washer or something lol. Luckily I have a restaurant no more then50 yards from my house so that's good.Thank you for comments in advance.
it varies by state. there are also special exceptions granted for some circumstances so that kids younger than the normal age in a particular state can get a license.
you don't need a license to drive so long as you stay off public streets. of course, this'll limit your driving opportunities quite a bit.
Arkansas, Like I said I went up to the courthouse which gives the tests on Saturday morning and gave me a study guide for it. They asked my age and I told them 14 and they said it was legal here. ONLY with a licensed driver over 21 with a few years of driving experience in the passenger seat.
Check that out guys just scroll down until it says Licence 14-18. It says I can drive with a legal guardian with a license over 21 Like I said for a minimum of 6 months
Yes. While you are driving, ask yourself, "am I mature enough to take the responsibility of the lifes of the people who I am taking aboard?". Take into account that if you crash, you will hurt and maybe kill someone. Are you capable of dealing the death of someone who had no blame at all? If your answer is yesthen, maybe you can take some driving lessons
Well im hope your not implementing that the first time I get into a car and drive im going to be going 60 MPH down the busiest Interstate in town. I will probably drive around my neighborhood where there is hardly any traffic at about10-15 MPH for atleast 2 weeks until I get a good feel of how the car functions....I doubt I will get into a wreck unless someone does something stupid.
I am 17 and I have nothing. I just took an online driver's course. And i don't want to waste money on driving lessons so I will just wait until I am 18.
I have to admit that when I saw the thread title, I thought it wa going to be a "I'm 15/16 and i like this girl in school but she's only 14. Can you help me out out guys?" kind of thread :lol:
Not in ALL states. Like I said when some people are just getting there permits at 16 im getting my full drivers license where I don't even need an adult. 14 to get a Permit 16 to get a full license. Also the job isn't just for gas it's to save up for when im 16. Like I said in my first post when im 16 im getting a 06-07 truck and I will need money for it then. That way I have some extrra cash for gas and some audio. I might install one of them mini 7" tv's into my roof so people can watch it.

The majority of accidents happen within 5 miles of your house statistically. Think about cars backing out or little kids running into the street as you're trying to figure out how to brake. The interstate is actually pretty safe.
I don't really think so, you'll just have alot more practice under your belt for when you turn 16, and are driving on your own. I started driving at 13 (country roads), and most country kids drive tractors well before that so I really don't think 14 is to young to be driving under supervision.
Well...I learned how to drive at 16. That's all I can really say. Yeah, you can drive, but not on the road (like driveway only I think, or off-road). But don't quote me on this.

Well I think that most 14 year olds don't have a sence of speed.
