[QUOTE="rockguy92"]Anyone else besides me hate texts? If you've seen "The Boondocks", you know my thoughts on it.Bloodbath_87They had a perfect description of it. :D Heh, I know. I love Gin Rummy.

Let me very clear, I HATE it when people text all the time.:| I seriously think this can be problem. I can't go to class one freaking day without some snot-nosed teenager texting away right when the teacher turns his or her head. It literally drives me up the wall, I mean, WTF?! Can't they, you know, actually use a phone what it was built for? This is insane. When it gets quiet in class I can hear a good amount of people texting like there's no tomorrow.
But you'd never know I have a problem with it...I don't comment to other people about their texting habits; I'm not some nanny of theirs. I was thinking about making a thread on texting, but this is just as good. I even think texting too much may become addictive, but this is my opinion so don't burn me at the stake.

I agree, Just shut up, you have no need to be texting in class anyways!, just shut the damn thing off and talk later, Texting is not more important than getting an education. +it also seems that more people buy cell phones for texting, not what it was originally for, TALKING to people. Its hilarious how people dont know the main features of the phone, so they buy stupidly expensive phones only text on..lolLet me very clear, I HATE it when people text all the time.:| I seriously think this can be problem. No, because people have always been inarticulate. If anything, this is an improvement. "Lol r u seein dat guys unzipd fly lol!" is worth more than a lot of people are willing to acknowledge. Is there a point where an over-reliance upon texting stunts normal communication skills?

(Note: I have never sent a text message out in my whole life, so I don't know if my example of a text message would be the most efficient way to write that sentence.)

From my experience, most people now either use predictive text or have a qwerty keyboard on their phone so they write things out normally. (I have a qwerty keyboard)
Wow, that girl is probably one of those kids that would actually commit suicide/kill their family if they got their phone taken away as punishment for a week.
Still, in order to send that many at a humanly possible rate she must have been CCing the same text message to mulitple people each time.
I agree with you and I was like this, but eventually I just gave into it and it's pretty much just like having an instant messenger in your pocket. Which definitely is addicting.Let me very clear, I HATE it when people text all the time.:| I seriously think this can be problem. I agree, with both of you. As I said before my $25 weapo-- phone works perfectly fine so why don't they just use one of them!? If they're just going to text why have a phone with 3D graphics, mp3 player, COLOUR!? And of course I agree that people should just call each other and not text in class because an education is better.

Why would I call a stranger who I met on the internet? I think you're confused, this is a PUBLIC FORUM, meaning the only way to engage in a conversation is through typing a post that can be displayed to other people, this is what this board was made for, it is the only medium in which to "talk" to other people. On a phone, however, there are other ways to communicate, like lets see...hmm a phone used for what? Oh yeah, talking! How could I forget! Like you know, dialing a persons phone number and actually talking to them.;)
Hope I clarified that for you.
You could do it, but the messages would be short and stupid...smiggy4000I bet most of those messages were less than 5 characters.
That is insane. I text maybe 2 messages a week at most. I don't understand the appeal. Isn't it much easier just to type with a normal keyboard and instant message over the internet?omfg_its_dallyNot if youre in class or school hallways or in a bus without a laptop and mobile USB broadband. And you would be surprised how fast you can learn to text with practice.
