To say that he "fended off the rapist" conjures images of him standing toe-to-toe with a gun wielding rapist while armed with only a knife. But nothing of the sort happened. He just let the woman in, locked the door and grabbed the knife in case the man managed to breach the door.

I don't dispute that he saved the woman's life by admitting her to his parents' home, but the title is misleading nonetheless.

In fact it's questionable whether he even acted prudently, let alone heroically ...

What if the "screaming rape victim" scenario had been a ruse? What if the woman had been a "Trojan Horse" accomplice in a home invasion? In that case, the kid's heroic good intentions would probably have cost him his own life and that of his young sister.
